Looked like a bloody sand pit to me. :| England are unlucky all the time though, all I can think of is that some African voodoo man put a curse on our football team back in the days of the empire or something. :\

You can see on replay goalie ran under terry when he _could_ of jumped up beforehand but no he went to play for a foul(even though it wasn't, would be if he had both hands on ball).Terry always had his eyes on the ball too anyway least we got best young player in the world ready for world cup.

Even if we lost due to a dodgy ref decision i am proud of wayne's performance!

Me too. Wayne is my hero right now and I don't care who knows it. The man is simply phenomenal.

Can't see how the ref could have given the goal though tbh, goalie wasn't able to jump, bit harsh but would have taken a ref with balls the size of a small planet to have given it. Whether the player intended to impede the goalie or not his arm was preventing the goalie from jumping so ref really had to disallow it.

Bloody good game though, nice goal by Owen and that second portuguese goal was an absolute rocket. Thought someone was going to disappear down that penalty spot at one point though.

Overall fair result as the Portuguese were the better side on the day by a mile IMO.

Just wish someone had gagged that scouse commentator, right moaning git.

although fair game i understand. i my self think the thought of posting a picture on the internet and then getting strange people coming up to me saying random drivel like, "oi i know u from some where" it would haunt me for the rest of my life.. not to say i dont already get this -_-

So if the balls in the air players have to get out of the way and let the keeper get it? The keeper made the mistake and got out of position, he realised he couldn't get it so fell on the floor. Ref was a joke all match, portugese played well, get sven and his george grahamesque tactics out so we can play some football.

I think you should remember that you are posting on an English forum. A little consideration and respect wouldn't go amiss for a change.

Nope, but if the keeper makes any attempt at a jump and an opposing player has his arm across his shoulder then the refs going to give a freekick everytime.

As for the keeper going to ground, well yep thats football these days and England is no different, they all make a meal out of the slightest contact and sometimes even when there isn't any. Bit of a joke to start complaining about it when your teams on the receiving end when don't remember seeing anybody complaining about blatent dives made by English players.

If it was the England keeper who that had happened to and a goal was given the commentators would have been screaming about it being a blatent foul.

Lol. I seriously doubt that. I really do. You'll find that it takes a lot more balls to give a free kick when a goal has gone in than it does to simply say that their was no foul, give the goal and get on with the game. Only slight contact was made and I don't believe that Terry was restricting him at all, his eyes were on the ball the whole time. I sincerely believe that if we were playing any team but the home nation in that match and the same circumstances occured, our team would not be going home now. But that's just how the game is, human error and poor decisions are constant in football but that's just how it is. Time to move on and hope that we get a less biased ref in 2006. :)

Tbh the soon we get live video replys like in American football the better, have seen my country get done more times then a pro on viagra in a prison. The amount of times we have gained a pen/free kick via bad ref decission would be a small lose.
But i can think of many times when we've lost because of very such poor or misconceved discisions. The Pro's out weigh the Cons.

A) The ref was very fair away from the "incident" and thus should have consulted other sources ie his assistants.

B) The Linesman GAVE the goal.

C) Hardly the best decision to let a Swis Ref Refeery a game including a side which thrashed his nation and there chances of qualifing.

D) The Refs decission of a "push" on the keeper was a hasty one, he was TOO affraid imo to give a match winning discission on the 89min goal.

UFEA (and FIFA) need to look at Ref vs county match's and use alternative Ref's, mainly because it rules out any "hype" about conspericy theorys or any bais. I defo think FIFA should look into video replies, perhaps not for all decisions but defo for important ones.

We was Robbed like every other year :(

Obviously you dont watch/listen much football then, well english commentators then at least. Pundits perhaps, but commentators are impartial and there is very few instances when a commentator has backed his home side impartially. Cant think of any time when motty or others have done so.

Whether or not they won or played better isnt what the problem is, but me personally im quite sick and tired of poor/substandard refing resulting in my country being knocked out of various internationals.

Stop being over zelus and sad Orreborre, any idiot can flame and troll.

That and the fact that lots of top international stars should/have retired by then (Khan, Figo, Costina, Zidane, Desaily,Elber, Batistuta, Ovarmars etc to name just a few), coupled with the fact that we have a fairly youthful side and the majority will still be in their prime for Germany 2006, hopefuly we will be the stronger team then.

They deserved to win.

If we had beaten them, it would have been a travesty, we would only throw it away next match.

and the goalkeeper taking the winning penalty was PURE CLASS

Okay, going to throw this more open as it's not just England (yes I am English) that have gone out over injustices in the past though it does seem like we've had our fair share of bad decisions pulling out of our hands a result that would have given us a win. There's several things that need to be sorted out in football/soccer.

1) Referee's need to be trained and taught the rules properly as a lot of it is down to the judgement and interpretation of a single man. Some consistancy needs to be brought into reffing.

2) It's time for some kind of extra official watching video incidents of a game, and I don't mean every niggling little thing but the important things like goals.

3) Diving and finding a way to stop it completely. The way some players actually play on the pitch you would think they were up for an Oscar or something. Maybe time to fine players for diving.

Stop following me into every thread and quoting every single thing that you can to try to have a pop at me on, it really is pathetic and I think you need to grow up a bit, find a hobby and stop acting like a stupid retarded fuckwit. :) For someone who apparently doesn't like me, you do show a lot of interest in almost everything I post and everything I do on the forum, beginning to wonder about you. Funny how you're up so late aswell, must be a scandinavian holiday or something, I thought you'd have school in the morning?
