They havn't decided if it's going to be 8/8 or just 16 yet, but 16 eps have been ordered, so at least we'll get a decent ending

I think you would be missing out on a lot if you didn't watch it from the start. The seasons are short so it shouldn't take too long to catch up.

It's been a real slow burner so far this season (not in a bad way) but it's slooooooowly heating up.

And rep for Chilly for finding that track, it is indeed... mint.

I love some of the scene transitions or whatever their called (for example overnight time lapse stuff) and they use some truly weird camera angles, especially in and around the lab.

they would because mad men demanded higher budget so they cut on Walking Dead and Breaking Bad.
