Can I just ask you Mids/Hibs ... why all the acclaim for Walkie? Yes I'm sure he is good -- but how long has his sorcerer been in RvR action? Certainly nothing like as long as people like Wyleia, Amirder or Jaas. Do people in DAOC really have such short memories?

No offence but i think that theres a lot of prestigious acclaim being laid upon Walkie, yes he may be kicking ass now and fair play to him as he is a very talented RvR char but please don't forget the original sorcerers who had to put up with no alb knowing wtf to do when people were mezzed. They battled through it for months and were consistent in performance.

I have much respect for the original Sorcerers that are Psi and Eze and Layl - all of them were damn good - some of my fondest memories were of being in a Layl and Eze RvR group with my cleric and of course Psi was in my group and taught me a trick or too when i play my sorc. Amazing to watch in action and both sadly missed. Albion is alot worse off for losing Psi and Layl and also Eze to inactiveness. What ever you have been accused of in the past you'll always be the ace sorc in RvR in my mind Layl

Jaas and Amirder weren't far behind them in reaching 50 and deserve credit as well as they are both good Sorcerers.

Try to give people credit guys instead of saying predictable stuff.

also people forget that mentalist is in fact a support class in hib, providing both heals and mana regen so lets hear some lovin for them okies.

Layl was a good sorc, back in the days when there was not so many level 50's about he was a good scalp to claim, kill Layl and their crowd control was gone. Was often a first target for me back when I had some meagre amount of respect in rvr also Now we're both has-beens, him still doing his thing for some 2 bob rvr hib guild and me undecided what to do in pve for multiple realms.

I never wanted to be the best at anything but unfortunately found myself being the best player daoc has ever known, it was hard to play down my role but I managed succesfully I think and now gladly play out minor roles killing mobs and levelling seceral characters to different levels.

You must all have been so proud to have known me

Cuz Walkie=Walker and he is a good player, havent seen his sorc in true action yet though, but if you have a good grp behind you (such and a sotl grp or pbuck's organized grp, it will make any sorc look good cuz u get the time to work yer magic)

Amirder is uber, glad to see him back out on the battlefield recently All through leveling up, him and Layl and Wild were the only sorcs I really had to watch, and i saw him lots more than the others work his craft (layl was usually in sotl grps, and never did get to rvr much with wild back then)

Amirder had all those rps back when we had very little 50s and it was harder to acheive

Redb is a bard alright, but before he made that bard he was a Cleric in sotl..

So.. who is the best then?

Cleric: Redb followed by Nee and Lochlyessa, i also feel safe with my sister (Alea) healing me, she didn't rvr enough to become one of the best tho ;>

Sorcerer: Xorta, one of the best players i've seen.. Always manage to get a nasty mezz off and surviving against all odds. Bet Walkie is good aswell (never had the chance to play with his sorc before i left)

Minstrel: Coren, never seen anyone else that good tbh.

Bard: Redb again, only bard worth mentioning.

Druid: Lourker and Dr0000d, /stick, /hit

Healer: Have no real favourite, Mordria or Piffany i guess.

A skilled inf can be a really good support class in a group, 2 of my favourite gimps come to mind but i don't like to name names, they may go pink with embarrasment and someone would have to pick up the blame

maybe because he knew about the new bonuses to speccing mind, if i had known that as many other sorcs i would have specced higher than 34 mind

Going 44 mind for nothing else than 12 secs or something wasn't worth it

But for what I can say, best sorc (and overall group leader) Walkie
Best Cleric (he always manages to wonder me that I come out of a fight with full health) Terith!

And as Coren mentioned it ... I haven't grouped with anyone who is better, so maybe there are better in the realm, but I haven't found em yet

Wannabe nuker? Body sorcs are pretty darn uber at it.... 10 less base dmg than fire wiz, speed, ae root, crappy aemezz, debuffs, *lifetap*, greencon pet, demezz, amnesia, incredible fire debuff (my fire debuff is uber.. could just imagine a body sorc's)...
They miss out on bolt and aedmg.. but id rather have aecc than aedmg anyways.
For the 5 hours i tried full bodysorc it rocked.. then went back to cc spec again :/ (cc not just mezz.. need both aeroot and aemezz nowadays with all the purge crap :/)
After 1.59 will see what happens... still have full respec

But if i had to pick a nuke dmg class in game to play it would be the 48/24 body/mind spec of sorcery

Stop it already, Im crying my eyes out here...

PS. So far Walkie has shown nothing else but uberness as a sorc Every old-school player can play any class in theory, knows teh tricks. Doesn't take that long to learn a new class, mastering it will take a while of course.

I know body sorcs are pretty damn uber, especially in combination with a fire wiz (Xorta + Walker = Hi!), but you started this thread for "the people behind the scenes, healing, crowd controlling, assisting where they can so these uber screen kill spammers can spam everyone's screen with their name on the correct side of "killed by" ". And face it, with the amount of resists, 'crowd controller' isn't the correct description for a low mind specced sorc these days.

Walker has rolled his sorcerer with the 1.6 patch firmly in mind. People like Amirder, Saturnine, Jaas, Wyleia etc specced their characters based on their known abilities at that time ... not to take advantage of a future patch.

Anyway, no one is saying he is a bad sorcerer -- just that he has been active for, what is it, 1 week? It appears most of the people posting names on this forum just post the last person who mezzed them, or the last cleric they gang-banged

There are other advantages to going high body Coren as you fine well know. Walkie's mez vs a baod group is going to last about 5 seconds.

As for being a wannabe nuker sorc nuke spec is as good as thurg windspec and probably better than fire wizard as you get a lot more utility.
