My friend in work has one and he is very pleased. The one thing he does say is make sure you put a screen protector on it. He looks after his devices and this is meant to have Gorilla Glass or whatever it is, but his has a few ugly scratches form innocuous little drops.

yeah I was also considering getting a folding leather case for it. I had my Desire for a whole day before I dropped it on my desk and the screen got scratched. In fact, I dropped it while putting a screen protector on it. Quell ironing!

galaxy nexus has a superb camera trem. the shutter time is almost 0, it's the nicest phone camera I've ever used. Faster and better than the latest iphone in tests with my mates.

I've played with one over the last couple of days first hand, and have to agree.

I also really liked the speed and the native android UI over Samsung's own version. That said, you'd be crazy to buy one with the s3 around the corner.

That is the thing that dragged me away from Androids, if you have a problem like i do with wanting the latest version even when yours is fine then Android is killer*.

There is always something better just around the corner no phone is truly the top dog for very long.

*I accept this is not Androids fault and it is my personality.

I've dropped my S2 3 times in total and there are no dints, scratches or cracked screens because its very light. Try that with a iphone and the screen will be cracked in 1 drop. I dare say iphones are designed with that in mind so apple can rob more money out of people.

I disagree. Moxier is still a problem on 2.1. I can't install the GB update because of the broken USB port.
The phone was my wife's and she treated it as carefully as she possibly could. Don't patronise me about looking after my devices.

Well Moxier stopped automatically starting on mine in 2.1 so was no longer an issue, so meh. You are also the only person I know who has broken the USB socket on an X10 (and I know a few people with them) so I'm kinda thinking that's a user problem.

Anyway 2 weeks in the Xperia S is still awesome. Still no ICS update but the GB implementation is pretty good, nice and stable, and absolutely flies. The screen is still stunning too, in fact it takes any other screen available on a mobile, whips its kegs down, and takes a massive shit on amateurish efforts like the Retina Display (too f'ing small) and the green thing on an S2 (seriously its like going back to 1984 with the green tinges on AMOLED) with its forced contrast and completely unnatrual colours. Sounds a bit like Samdung tellies in fact.....

HTC One X is looking pretty sexy
This.

Gonna picture a HTC One X on release day to replace my current iPhone.

Had an iPhone 4S for a month and I hate the pants onto it, give me back my android pleaaseeee. (Had to lose the previous android as the misses broke her phone and needed a sharpish replacement, thought i'd give the iPhone a try but god do i regret it)

So if anyone wants a 4S 32gb for £400 do give me a pm :p

Otherwise, get a One X!

Prefer the smaller HTC One S.
Yeah i would normally get the S. But HTC is finiky when they partition memory. So the 16gb will likly become 11gb after they are done.

And as I have about 9gb of Spotify music offlined its a bit tight :/ + apps would push me over the limit.

Might try and cut down my music collection size tho and get the S. Better battery life too :) and you dont exactly need quad core yet :p

my galaxy S(1) is now 2 years old and might as well be a nokia 5110 given its current level of functionality

Struggling to see what it offers other than a Quad Core CPU? Looks a bit dull, Sense is mostly awful and comes with Beats Headphones? What's more if you actually use the power its got the battery is gone in less than a day?

If you are small enough of penis and have to have the highest spec phone on the market it's probably OK, but for the rest of us who actually use a phone for stuff other than running benchmarks, like, I dunno, work, I don't honestly see any benefits in this phone at all over the Galaxy S2, Xperia S or iPhone4S.

I have a 4S atm. Its battery barely lasts me 12 hours.

I leave home at 6am, listen to spotify for the 2.5 hours to work, down to ~60% battery. By lunch it'll be down to 35-40% (better signal near the office, on the train signal comes and goes so it noms battery quite rapidly)

If i was to play any games on it it'd be flat by midday without fail. On the journey home it leaves the office fully charged. By the time i get home, having played a few levels of angry birds, it down to 30-45% depending on how quickly my hands get sore holding it up :)

Want to know a shocker?

This is the exact same battery profile I got out of my SGS2, if not slightly worse.
They are all the same when it comes to battery, the only difference is how they look draining it.

Re: the HTC One tho, another review here http://android.modaco.com/page/news/_/android/htc-one-x-review-r433
Talking about the 4+1 cpu and the single core "idle" mode battery usage.

Yawn Bodhi, sorry the phone had the wrong manufacturers name.

Care to answer the points I raised rather than turning this into a fanboy flamewar? Or can you not manage a slightly more intelligent argument than "Ohhh its not a Sony, bodhi won't like it". Cos, like, I own quite a few non-Sony devices as well, which are mostly excellent (iPad 2 excepted), so, er, Whats your point?

If you read the reviews you will see that htc have already released a firmware upgrade to address the battery life issues.

So, yes, it does seem to be your usual, it's not an experia therefore it's shit argument.

Yet if you read the reviews you will also see that even after the software update, the battery still sucks.

Oh, and what's an Experia?

If that is the cornerstone of your argument then you shouldn't of bothered upgrading to the Xperia S yourself. It is based around android 2.3 which can be found on many phones, it has a skin (Timescape) as well and it doesn't have anything extra in the battery department and in fact some people seem to be suffering a connectivity switching issue which is causing the battery to go flat rather fast.

The arguments you use are ones that can be levelled at nearly any phone but what tends to decide what I buy is the fact my contract is running out so I've got an upgrade and thus I want the best phone around at the time for my needs. Personally my choice is between HTC One S, X and Xperia S and after reading through many reviews, looking at forums and considering my personal requirements the HTC One S is my choice at the moment. To me the HTC One X is a little bit overkill for my personal needs and the best way to sum up the Xperia S is http://www.theverge.com/2012/3/5/2841547/sony-xperia-s-review#wrap-up.

I don't take the decision lightly either since HTC annoyed me a bit with a rather wishy washy attitude towards Desire software updates at times as the phone got older.

If people really interested. I'll be picking my my HTC One X wednesday evening it seems. I'll use it in the normal manner I have described above and post up the results.
If anyone has any other questions i'll be happy to answer those too.

That said, if your really into battery life. Get a Droid RAZR and then buy the MAXX kit. Gives it a 3800mha battery rather than a 1800 :)
