Ive had enough, i dont have my subscription on autorenew...as soon as this months subscription stops I won't be renewing unless the lag has been fixed by then.

Hopefully enough of us will do the same and Mythic / Goa will see that this poor service isnt going to be supported.

Annoyed...

Btw have u noticed there hasnt been a single post by any of the ingame GM's since the last few days of lag started hmmm... maybe that inquisitor from DF roamed into the office and killed them all :O

Between me and my gf we have 5 accounts (all the same realm :p). I have removed all from auto renew and unless this lag is fixed soon they will not be paid for again.

Perhaps they are actually busy and looking into the issue, ever thought of that?

or perhaps they got so pissed off at all the bitching on these unofficial forums, that they browse as a courtesy and reply when they can...

leave em alone and let em get on with it - i'd rather get it fixed and working than have 5 minute update bulletins - i get enough of that at work

that may be the case and i agree to some extent - but its been shit for a long time with NO improvement, in fact there has been a decline in service over time - the goa chaps must have had literally thousands of Pingplots from hundreds of unique locations - if they cant get it fixed, at least let us know they will never get it fixed so we can fuck off and stop hoping.
Well, i dont hope, cos i dont play, but if i did id be even more irate than I am.

its not exactly world peace they're trying to secure, being computer illiterate i cant say, but judging from what people say a disabled monkey could fix it

What the fuck do they gain from NOT fixing something a disabled monkey could fix in 5 minutes? Surely you understand they are like a company ... with employees .. that want to have a paycheck at the end of the month... and stuff

I can understand why people are angry and dissapointed. I know I fucking am. But assuming they are not fixing a simple problem (and just assuming it's as simple problem really) because they don't want to .. or because they don't think it's a problem ... come on you are brighter then that :p

You know, I was really trying to make a positive post here. It hasn't helped that it got stuck in the middle of 4-5 lag whine threads, but I understand why Flim did that so it's cool.

It seems obvious to me that GOA must be working to fix this lag and I'm even happy to believe that they have made every possible effort and explored every possible avenue to track down this problem which is ruining the game for so many of their paying customers.

I certainly don't believe that this is a problem that could be fixed in 5 minutes by anyone. I do wonder whether GOA have the in-house skills to deal with tricky networking issues. You'd think they would have good networking people, but I guess that would depend on how Plug'n'Play the stuff they get from Mythic is. If it's a case of "buy x number of this box, run this setup software, wire them this way' then maybe they don't.

Here we come back to the problem. We just don't know. Here are my 5 questions to any GOA person who would like to answer a concerned player.

1) Do you know (roughly) what is causing the lag?
2) Do you have people on your staff with the skills and experience to properly debug these issues? (be they hardware/software/network/whatever)
3) How closely are Mythic involved and are you working with them on these issues?
4) Have you conclusively proved that the lag is NOT caused by anything? (ie it's NOT your locations, it's NOT the server hardware, it's NOT OpenTransit)
5) Do you believe that this lag can be fixed, given enough time?

Basically, if I could get answers to those 5 questions, I personally would be much happier. If the answer to #5 is 'No' then maybe it's time to look for another game. If the answer to #5 is 'Yes' then I'm more than happy to stick it out and wait for the game to come back. I quite like TOA/NF and I'm looking forward to Catacombs...I just hope we have enough players in Europe by then to make it worthwhile playing.

I've been fairly quiet in this lag discussion, mainly yelling into a wall instead of posting here on FH, but now i felt like typing something. Since Killswitch basically said all what I wanna say with the above quote, i'll just say that i totally agree with that.

[7-10-2004] Server downtime tonight

We have just be informed that our provider will be performing a maintenance on the network this evening at approximately 1am CET. This means that the connection to the servers will be interrupted at this time and everyone will be disconnected from the server. The maintenance will be short and you should be able to connect back to the servers within minutes. Unfortunately we will not be able to give out a warning ingame beforehand so expect to be disconnected from the server around that time. A reminder for English players, 1am CET will be 12am for you.


And yet you still cannot fix the lag that plagues the game we play for. Even OSI the company run by monkeys could fix the lag on their servers, yet we have now experienced over 100 days of game crippling lag.

tbh, this is geting behond a fucking joke, u cant hardly play the game atm with the lagg, so goa get ure fucking ass in gear and sort it, or many players will leave, including me

Groan i've just decided to come back to DAOC after 7 months away and now begining to wish I hadn't bothered. Anyhow I shall try to be positive and continue playing as much as is possible. (smashed 1 keyboard already out of frustration)
So this morning I decided to submit to rightnever and see what happens.

Just reactivated my account after some months away from DAOC. Yet I cannot play the game due to constant LD's (Link Dead) and terrible terrible lag.
Now I have been onto the forums (freddysHouse) and there are literaly hundreds of complaints from your customers experiencing excactly the same problems as me. At this current time the game is unplayable and yes I MEAN THAT. Do not bother to tell me to submit a tracert or pingplotter report as Im more than certain you have hundreds of these which have more than likely been trashed..
I was realy looking forward to starting DAOC again with TOA, NF and the upcomming Catacombs expansion but I fear this game is doomed, unless you offer your customers some feedback on what the hell is going on!!!! The magic word, which im sure you loathe to use is CUSTOMER SERVICE. Learn about this word fast before the world of DAOC crashes down. You all know what games are on the horizon!

You are going to lose LOTS of customers (myself included). I think you should at least post some news as to what is currently being done to resolve this.

So we've all given GOA couple weeks now to fix things and they have failed. They havent even acknowldged the problem on their website.

Never like to moan, but.... i have nearly had enough of this crap, i love the game to bits, but WoW is looming and even if its only half the fun to play i would rather play it in a lag free situation, i dont wanna quit, but see no alternative, unless it gets fixed sharpish.

why the fuck do we have to email to France Telecom , WE fucking pay every month and now you want us to fix it so they can sit in the office getting every month our sub money maybe they should do something cus since a few days ago i dont see any posts from them about our lag and the lag is horrible atm I pay for 3 accounts and want good service not some retarded lag :eek:

Well requiel made a replay on one of these whine treads somewhere that says the normal nothing. I agree that they should make a statement on the homepage instead.
