It's very good except ... what if I lost some very rare item like a ring of heavens, or some TG item ... under those rules I'll be given money ...

Craftables or easily farmable items, ok, but some things should be considered on the same level as artifacts and quest items.

mmm, if my sililias necklace remains missing they will, according to the post, compansate me with some wortless money. I share that neck in two of my 3 chars, wich means im totaly screwed if it will not be replaced. And its anything but quick/easy to get a new one... bleeeh

/wines
I havn't been to upset with the downtime untill now because of this, all I really wanted was my "precious" item back so I had patience, now they are saying in an officiall post that it wont be replaced. Grrr.

agree in how do they accurately compensate for an item that will sell for a lot on ME? Have an item that people will pay 50-100p for and if it goes missing you would expect to get that in compensation, if you didnt and got like a plat then you would feel very ripped off indeed. apart from that everything else is good :)
GMs play the game, they know the market value of the items from their characters :)

There really is no 'official' price on items - It'll be interesting to see how much GoA will give players that have lost a item/s.

I can't imagine they giving out 'money' for stuff which was in your inventory / gear. I mean seriously, if hypothetically a character is fully stripped from every gear (so its a naked level 50) how the fuck is money gonna do anything ?

You would need new MP-armour (if u had), new SC (if u had), and countless jewelry which is perhaps rare or even unique.

While what they have done is good im not sure this makes up for the time lost, seeing as we missed a bankholiday so 3 days worth of play, and some ml runs that could have been run ect i think we should have been given more fluff tbh.

so excal players are getting free subs even tho they had their server and access to their 50's?

absolute bollox if they do.......

due to them knowing which acc's where being played on pryd more than excal cause they have been going thru all the pryd chars... or so they say....

another point... testing over the weekend?
thought they had rules about working weekends?
in other words, they didnt get finished or dont wanna run pryd incase it feks up again while they aint in the office *over the weekend*...

ye, english peeps aint as dumb as ya think....

and the compensation sux ass..... if pryd is back up monday... underdog should be implemented for 12 days, same time server was down.... that gives the 2 weekends lost back to catch up etc....

and b4 you start giving me the *he fekin whining he didnt get enough again*
its doesnt interest me, as of next friday im on holiday for 2 weeks... so i wont benefit fek all... and tbh, its a crock of shit anyway.....

glad your all back to being fan boys/girls of goa....
but myself i aint.... a years free subs couldnt get them back in my good books tbh...... or mythic for that matter......
due to a statement i read earlier about goa hitting the office and waiting for mythic to get up and doing about 4.5 hours chatting/work a day on the actual problem.

paying customers should be given priority if something goes wrong with the product. clustering of french servers is just 1 example 1 day after pryd was taken down for *MAJOR* repairs......

anyway, i said it b4, this time fuck it... not even bothering with this piss ass forum any more...

If this is the same Tallwiz that was in Griffon Knights then you've really gone down hill. Seemed like quite a nice person but now you're just a twat. :eek7:

what kind of pathethic poll is this? instead of bitching about compensation being good/bad/not fotm enough, you should atleast b happy prydwen is back up on monday.
:touch:

you can also ignore it and read something else, I just wanted to know what everyone thinks about the compensation. I haven't given any opinion of myself about it. Why should I anyways, I'm playing on the US servers not on EU anymore so I don't have any right to whine about it. That's why I've voted neutral. Instead of bitching about the poll you could at least skip this post and read something else till Prydwen is back on monday.

I am not happy with this.

We lost just 2weeks of RPs.

Lets say just 200k a week, prolly more.

10% more that would be 40k in total more.

Add this to more to 100-300% and it would be more more fair.

100k a week, wiee 100k extra as person prolly would have made these 2 weeks soon the server been gone. I dont understand how 10% would on earth cut it.

Give ppl the ability to gain the RPs that we would been able to get when the server was down, and add to that excal ppl are already ahead in the RPs on many cause of higher pop server. This chance would lead to us Prydwen ppl to be able to close atleast the cap more.

So give 200% atleast rp bonus. And i would be pleased.

Not good enough. Estimated 15000-20000 accounts on Euro servers = a shed load of cash per month, think about it. They can afford to pay overtime and work weekends. Get it sorted. Waiting for Mythic to get in to help during US daytime hours? Get in later and work later to coincide with US hours. I'm not satisfied. Quite frankly I pay my subscription to them to run a decent bloody game, which they do, but I just have visions of French computer nerds sitting around while everything is ok earning cash. Day after day, everything is fine but when it comes to the crunch and the shit hits the fan? No thanks Jaques, I'm adhearing to EU regs and going home at 5pm.

Come on guys the server is back monday.
It's been a very frustarting time and lots of people has "suffered" due to hols, school hols, people off work(myself).
But at the end of the day it is still a game and thats all.
The time spent here is valuable to a lot of us and also an escape from real life sometimes, but I think this to a lot of us has been an eye opener to how we take our accounts for granted.
If I did my job like this then I would more than likely kill a few people and would be instantly sacked, however I don't run a Database full of 1000's of people and through IT experience computers and programs are designed by Humans and Human error will never be eliminated...simple as that.
Be happy and looking forward to seeing my friends on monday night after (doh) work :)

The free days - fine - extra xp - 2 day free levels - not of interest to me as only 1 of my chars gets any benefit - and the char that does I was planning on capping leirvik (ie RR3) before I continued leveling - as for what might be missing from my char - no idea not seen it for over a week - and did not make a record of what was missing - no exact details. Cannot understand if they are able to start server on Monday why it could not be started either now or on Saturday - I understand they may want to have staff to monitor it, best they get their cheque book out and pay a bit of overtime for the weekend then.

Shoddy customer service - badly thought out compensation. This game may be about getting to 50 as fast as possible for some, and is exactly what they have aimed the compensation at. I do not always get alot of time to play so the period will have little or no benefit for myself or many other more casual players. Down for the week/weekend I am off and up again the week I work 7 days - so it looks like thanks for nothing from my point of view, will try to get as many hours on as I can.

Since the server has not been tested by us the end users - actually no guarantee that this is the end of the problem either.

If you read earlier posts in other threads, they were staying later to deal with it also they were working weekends.

Tony Blair also had evidence of WMD's in Iraq - saying you have done something is easy - as you get older and more experienced you will realise that ppl talk much bullshit. I have my own business - if the servers went down I would not just be working overtime I would have staff on it around the clock til it was fixed as without my customers I have nothing. Accepting a poor service that you pay for is very bad. The English are known for not complaining enough. I will not accept shoddy service, neither should you.

What are you on about?
I'm over 30 thanks and I figure I know when I'm being bullshitted. If you had read the other threads and seen the posts there rather then posting uninformed bollocks, you'd have read that most of the work had to be done by Mythic (as Mythic = developers while Goa = server providers) who weren't working weekends. There's not a lot of point in paying staff around the clock when the devs who can fix stuff are going home of an evening.

I'm pretty happy with the compensation. I didn't really lose anything during the downtime as I only got home from holiday last monday. None of my characters should have lost any items. The underpop bonus is nice too, probably the only time Albion will have underpop bonus. ;)

However, my mum lost her love story book and is pretty pissy about it. I can imagine people who got some items on wednesday are pissy, but I believe GOA said they will give you back those items or some gold to compensate. So, they got that covered as well.

Personally, I can't think of any other way of compensating the players. I mean, sure, they could give everyone a couple of 100k realmpoints or free suits of equipment, whatever. But that would ruin the games economy, and kinda goes against the spirit of the game.

As for the customer service, I don't really think it's that bad. I haven't had many run-ins with it, I'll admit. But those I had were fine and usually quickly resolved. As for the 'lack of information on the website', I believe one of the GMs posted something about that earlier about how they were unable to post info there and he was instead keeping us 'up to date' on some thread on FH.

Lastly, it's just a game, missing 100k realmpoints isn't the end of the world. Seriously, during this week of downtime I actually managed to get some things sorted I needed to have done ages ago but was too busy playing DAoC. There's a whole world just past your door to explore!
