This is one for those of us who live in the UK.
I read a lot of books, mainly by american authors and everytime they have an english character they call them British, if they are scotish/welsh or irish then they are referred to as scotish, welsh or irish but english characters are always british.
Personally i never refer to myself as being british, if someone asks me where i am from i say i am english *waits for English to post and say "no your not...i am!"*, even on forms where i have to state my nationality i put other rather than british.
So how do you refer to yourself are you british or english, welsh, scotish or irish?
