Much as I loathe the BNP party, and everything it stands for, that's really dodgy, and it's going to cause a hell of a lot of problems for people. The way to deal with them is through political means, not terrorising families, and losing people their jobs.

A theory is that it was leaked by the BNP treasurer, to undermine Griffin. Meh, the comments on the blog that The Register linked to were a bit scary. Someone talking about how Griffin could run the country if he can't control the data. As if that was likely.

And if a BNP government gets voted in, Scotland will devolve the next day to get the hell away from them.

Just saw the list too and was able to pin down some local addresses, its unbelievable.. in two minds as to my thoughts on this, it's interesting to see the people in it, but also..some of these people are probably going to lose jobs and get hate mail etc now.

Well if anyone loses their job on the back of this I should imagine they'd be well within their rights to sue for unfair dismissal.

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

No one should be put in this situation - these people aren't criminals... just morons :).

What do BNP members like to buy? Union jack flags? Inflatable black people to beat up? I'm going to spam them all and sell them viagra. Best email list ever tbh!

Roll up roll up, who wants to play "guess the most popular mail service provider amongst BNP members" ?

http://dprime.co.uk/projects/bnp/bnp.php

You, that's who :D

Just knocked it up for jokes, unsurprising AOL lead there. beeb.net is shady. This is only the top 100.

I was going to write a script to sum up the donations they all made (some of them have extra info against their record, including hobbies and any donations they made and whether they are deemed an "activist" or not. Then I decided I couldnt be arsed.

Nothing, unless you're a police officer or similar, in which case say goodbye to your job.

Why would you post the link to it?

I don't get it. What's wrong with being a member?

Its a little more controversial than the other parties because they are regarded as racist. Supposedly police officeres are banned from membership to the party - I read that one police officer in manchester was forced to resign after he was seen with a BNP badge at a football match.

The main thing is its alot of names thrust into the spotlight with an easy and several virtually anonymous, risk-free ways to contact and harrass them, even if they dont care about the politics involved.

Imagine having your own name, address, phone & mobile phone number and email address, as well as other personal details freely available to anyone on the internet? Even if you arent a member of anything you're still liable to get things headed your way just because people can.

The whole racism etc thing probably comes from a small minority being racist, then the whole group being labeled.

As is customary with all things.

I'd have to agree with Mey, and even take t further, as greenpeace actually on occasion breaks the law.

If someone shouts "I hate (insert some religion/race/etc here)", i go "good for you", think "what a racist", and move on.

I don't go around throwing deaththreats or wish they'd all die.
