yeah i really want to waste 10 points on volcanic pillar, and use it maybe every 30 mins :> plus isit one nuke to stop it casting completly and rush you? or what?

Erm, the character doesn't exist yet, but I'll dedicate one of my 4 SI slots to one. I'll can the project if I get waxed heavily in the BGs though :)

Probably will need 11 matter for BG rest in spirit so I have 1st nearsight to annoy the invaders :)

Any fight against a chanter insta the pet and it will rush to melee you after having done one failed cast.

Better then having it standing and nuking no?

Same goes for casting Sorcerer, Mentalist and soon cabbie pets.

And if you don't wanna get the RA your choice, hit the little guy with a regular AE/DD.

Wizards sucks, I told you plenty of times ;)

i tend to aoe mez it and its pet then send my pet and nuke the crap out of it...if it does have MoC up i always win

in groups its just the group that sees the other group first (unless RA's /insta heals interfear)

i used to own chanters on camlann with my runie (provided they didnt have pet set on me through a wall or sth).

-nearsight chanter (ALL mana chanters would rather stun-debuff-nuke than run in from range and risk being nuked-rooted etc)
-pet will being nuke cast (3s). quickcast root. pet will stop casting and try to run to you.
-snare nuke chanter to death!

this was when i was suppression specced up to 41. after that i was RC spec, and it was even easier. i just selected chanter and casted spec line bolt. if they didn't die in one hit then QC baseline bolt. would kill em 95% of time :)

Pluses it sticks on pets. It _doesnt_ stick on anyone else. It just keeps them interrupted, regardless of whether baod is on or off.

Mezz doesn't interrupt.

Dont forget Mid is kinda gimped by design as far as magic resists go, ours are all in the least specced lines for normal chars. Where as not so for the other realms, most friars spec thier buffing ability most chanters mana etc. Most healers and shamans are not aug specced that high unless buffbots.

Any shaman that doesnt have at least 32 aug will have a hard time finding a group.

Unless the group cares 0% about their effectiveness :m00:

Effective tactics I've been on the receiving end of on hib...

1. Zerg When you outnumber them 3 to 1 or more you tend to win (notable exception, the 10fg albs on excal owned by 3 mana chanters, a mana eld and a mana ment).

2. Mid ae mez/ae stun and pbae combo. You GP the mez get stunned and everyone dies in 2 seconds, whee!Lets not forget that they all run in at mach 6 cos of end buffs. :p

3. 3+ zerkers in a group all on one target, people get insta killed by the zerks. Not much use using moc if you die in under 1 second.

In general on excal albs use 1, and mids use all 3. ;)

Solo tactics...
1. Have stealth. Minstrels and infils should be able to take out a solo chanter. Harder for archers due to the general nerfness of them.
