Anti Chanter tactics

We all know that chanters are far too overpowered and are the deciding factor in 75% of hib wins.

We had a head thrash session to come up with any way to stop em.

As far as we can tell.....the only way is for all Trolls aand Highlanders to carry around a big glass jar.....spring at the Luri...then trap him inside the jar.

Kill his m8s.....lift jar up....stomp it.




Of course...with the manachanter team leader asking for them to get stealth in the next patch....we will need to devise more tactics.

if so then this thread can be turned from a whine/flame/joke type thread to a useful one and thats got to be a first for a BW thread :)

Nuke the shit out of them?

dont solo one with PBT?

dont stand there like a complete idiot with stick on getting nuked(tanks)

given all the options id go for "nuke the shit outta" then its not hard

ignore the pet, swing at him (to kill pbt) then slam, guaranteed winner unless he has some anoying stealther with him :(

Why are you going to nearsight a manachanter. Its the pbaoe being talked about here. You dont even need to select a target. Im a Hibbie and the only way i can think to stop a chanter is..... is.......... erm, Nuke the shit out of it. No use slamming as most have purge. No use hitting as most have MoC and will kill you before you kill it. Just nuke the feckers if you can find 'em since most are luri's.

I'm just glad im on their side :clap:

In a few weeks time sending in the first level 50 Reavers sounds a plan - though you can't beat nuking the crap out of them from 1,500 range of course :)

Nuke a chanter? With BAoD it'd take you a year (or, alteast until BAoD wears off).

ManaChanter + BAoD + resist buffs + stacked 6s PBT = almost invinceable.

And don't forget insta AoE mez from his bardic friend.

What do you mean why nearsight the Chanter?

Why? Enchanters nuke for a hell of alot more than I do on my Runie (debuff, nuke nuke = dead Runie). They don't just have PBAoE.

I'm protecting myself from a ranged attack, it's not like I'd run in and hit him with my staff...

All chanters are pbaoe spec. If you nearsight them you are only disabling their base nuke.

They have a debuff for said baseline nuke that enables them to hit cap every cast...

...not nice... :(

and that too. But as you said. usless if you nearsight them. THEN if they come running towards you run.

Nearsight won't do anything.

Usually unleashing a torrent of Mjolnir's on chanters seem to work well enough. Regardless of damage actually done.

Try casting with Thor's fury raining down on ya and you can fuck of back to hibernia :)

You nuke enchanter! Enchanter q/c stuns you! YOU ARE FOOKED!

You nuke enchanter! Pet attacks you! You are interrupted, you cant escape, you q/c on it, by this time everyones noticed that you are a caster and you have 5 tanks on you.

You nuke enchanter! Enchanter uses BAoD! You hit for 80 (-400) damage!

Ive found Spamming Air Pets on my theurgist on the chanter confuses them to hell as they auto target the pets and there evil nuking pets target the pets to, and because most chanters are ickle Luri's they cant see u over the pets so manual targeting is hard (so they never get the rigth target), also Air Pets have chain stun, which u are never immune to, so they stop them using MoC to kill the pets and others around them.

I know its not a perfect solution but it works most of the time :D

Send a few friars on one,hitting 200-300 every 1.5 secs on me would do a great deal more on them and stop them casting:D

why do we post such shit IF he uses so and so RA if he does so and so, how about if we do so and so, PA the shit Dot the shit Nuke him for fuck all what does it matter as long as hes getting interupted he aint casting. No one thinks for the team its all me me thats why we die so much no one looks out for each other and we just zerg (shit im whining again rofl)

team work? genral beat down? nuke everyone kill them all,

lets look at it then WTF are Mythic/goa thinking that they give Hibs grp purge, Insta MEzz, 30 seconds of near invunrability to magic, why the hell do i RvR in midgard thats pretty much win, win and win with a good well made group, oh wait sounds like nolby pride?

For a Londoner my English is pretty bad dont u think ? :)

DoT or send in an infil. Don't give them a chance to stand next to you and PB.


In a typical fight, some halfwit tank is beating the funny moose-man, with a warden/bard standing there healing. The chanter runs in, PBs and the tank goes down.


When that chanter comes for you, /stick and slam. If 2+ melee the chanter, he's dead. DoT and infils are still the best way to stop them.

he is casting tho, through the pet :eek: And then you cant continue to interrupt because the pet is interrupting you...

I dont mind them having stun, i dont mind them having much better nuke damage (w/debuff), I dont mind them pbaoeing every 2.5 secs, its teh fucking pet shooting you constantly wherever you go, WITH a snare component, BLARG makes meh so angreh :>

at least you can see a melee pet and target it for a root. You have to run to the back of keeps, run all around the milegate, to find the one pet out of 10 or so thats chain nuking you making you a completey useless fuck :D Cant wait for LoS fixes
