And that's just college football! Those boys are just about 20-22y olds and look at how great athletes they already are! If that video doesn't give you chills you are just about as solid as a rock

And don't give me "bla bla American crap! I am English and bla bla bla!"

It's a great game and tbh it's more exciting than regular football! Yeah I went there! But it is! The NFL has some of the world's best athletes and they don't bitch and whine whenever they get touched

because they have big fucking gay padding on? u cant feel shit when wearing that stuff

I'd probably watch it if the play flowed, but it stops as much as it starts and they bum off ad-breaks.

Am. Football and Icehockey.
My favorites.... Indeed, they don't start crying whenever someone throws them a dirty look. That made me fed up with soccer, besides the extremely slow pace of soccer. Atleast with Football something actually happens in game. Similar with Ice Hockey. 2006 olympic final (Finland - Sweden). Endgame was one of the coolest endgames I've ever seen.

You go find a near by amercan football club,
play a real game, not just practice, then comeback and repeat that statement.

or well,
actually, practice will do just fine, just make sure you let them know
how you feel about padding before practice starts.

I played for the towns under 18 team, its a fantastic sport to play, its not so great to watch though due to the nature of the sport and the constant ad breaks.

that's how i feel about it. i've recently started playing madden and enjoy that, and i'd love to have a go at playing it properly. can't watch any more than a highlights package though.

Boring as hell to watch. Rugby players are harder, and the game flows more.

I like NFL (I like all sports), but personally i find the different versions of rugby etc a lot more though and fun. And isn't NFL (and Baseball, another American sport) the only professional sports where you can be unfit and fat and still successful? :p

Can't beat Finnish Baseball

I've said it once, i'll say it again, when it comes to entertainment you can't beat the US. In sport, movies, shows, it's all aimed for entertainment and they do it bigger and often better.

Comparing soccer and NFL is like comparing a ford escort and a bugatti veyron, both get you there, but the other makes you feel alive.

Yup, that's why football is the worlds biggest sport by an absolutely massive margain, because it's not as entertaining as American Football.

I highly doubt it, they got 1 job and that is to take one step forward and stop the other fattys on the other team. While the QB/other fit people tries to score :p

I like the NCAAF and you think that some of these College games get 90k + people go and watch I know America is huge but School games get more people than our National Sport at our National Stadium ;) The draft should be good this year with Tebow awesome player but lots of talk about how well he will play or even where he will play in the NFL.

I really like the way it works in America these kids can get a full education for free playing american football.

I heard from my american football playing housemate that i share with aoln, that NCAAF is considerably more popular than NFL in the states. Is this so?

I think it is in Florida the Gators get constant sell outs but the NFL team are not close to sell out. Not sure about elsewhere i only really follow the games on ESPN America :)

Hard to get NFL tickets as well. I've tried to get them for Colts games in the past (in-laws live near Indy) but it's always booked up a year in advance, crazy money too: $150+ for a half decent seat.

It's entertaining to those who liek the sport, ofcourse, but as far as "fun entertainment" goes, i'd say the NFL wins. US just knows how to hype, overdo and boost things.

To me the sports are like this;

NFL = Quick boosts of action, instant gratification.
Footie = More waiting with light gratification at times.

I'm not saying footie is bad, just to me it's not as fun to watch.

wich is wich then ?

Personally the bugatti goes into the NFL section, while the steady ford escort is the footie one.

The only thing they get right is the half time entertainment.

Other than that the sports are pretty dull, they just seem to make it so scoring = 3 points so the game sounds exciting with a 44-23 score.

Also you're ford/bugatti thing is retarded since it's your opinion. For me watching NFL would be like driving an old truck whereas watching football would be like a sleek ferrari ;)

Also college NFL is embedded in US culture. They get 90k for these games since the whole college turns up along with half the locals, not to mention the fact that pretty much every college actually has its own 70k+ seater stadium oO

always fancied getting over to the US at some stage and watching my boys the Steelers.....

interresting,

So your using a European car to describe an american sport and vice versa ?

wouldnt a better comparison have been.......say

A Muscle car or Dragster vs A Classic sports car ?

Mustang v Ferrari
Chevi v Bugatti
Dodge v Lambo

ect ect and so on, or maybe that's just me ?

Yeah, maybe that would've worked better, but the ethnicity of a car is hardly the point :D

Makes me wonder if you have ever watched NFL, sure when they play its fast. But all in all it has to be one of the slowest sports ever. As soze said in another thread, 4 hours for 4*15 min? Can't exactly be described as action packed :p
