Games age of conan

so i was looking for a new game to play and came across the trial to age of conan. played it for like 3 hours tonight with my roommate and it was really awesome! what i love about it is that its not WoW - i have played LOTRO and WAR and they are just too much like the same old formula. but AoC seems different - and quite deep. we are only like lvl 9 right now but who knows, once i reach the end of the trial (lvl 20) i might actually buy it.
that is, if someone doesnt tell me the endgame content / population sucks. so, anyone know about the endgame content and population?

There is ALOT of endgame content really, but you need lots of people for it to be enjoyable. Also, i missed some kind of forum where they plan raids and all that x:

I quite liked it when it was released but had to stop playing due to the constant crashing. After a few load screens the game would just freeze no matter what i tried.

no crashes so far for either of us. though my friend had a problem with getting the game to run in teh first place, but that was our fault - he copied the game from me so he wouldnt have to download it all at 1 MB/s.

The crashes that troubled the game just after launch have been since long fixed. A lot of polish has gone into Age of Conan, especially after the new Game Director took over, and they've focused on listening to the players.

There's plenty of end game content with raiding currently at Tier2 and Tier 3 raiding being in the pipe and coming soon. There's also various PvP variants depending on what server type you're on. Personally i'm on an RP-PvE server which is kind of like the "normal" servers on DaoC. That is, PvP with consent in certain areas only. Those borderland areas still leave some things to be desired, such as incentives to go there, incentives to take part in sieges etc, but... I'm still hoping it will be put in once the other upgrades are done.

As for population, there are some servers teeming with life, and other servers struggling a bit.

PvE: Crom - full of people from what i understand, not much RP
PvP: Fury - not sure how many play here these days. Full of ganking zergs and childish people from what i hear
PvP-RP: Aquilonia - should have a decent population, RP server with world PvP enabled which results in a lot of people getting ganked and leaving for Hyrkania in frustration
PvE-RP: Hyrkania - smallest population of the servers (I think) but also the highest ratio of mature players and roleplay oriented crowd.

All servers had regular end game raids going, etc.

was very close to resubbing my aoc account, got the email through about the 2x faster exp plus other things etc.

I did like aoc, and i might give it another go.

Main problem for me was that the highpoint of the game was in the first 20 levels then it rapidly went downhill. That coupled with how unbalanced PvP was(melee vs. casters specifically) just made me lose intrest.

I liked it(release player), even if they didn't give me my free drinks as the collector box said!

But then it got a bit stale, bit meh and a bit unfinished.

This was way back though, so if AoC survived this long, it might be time to take my lifesucking titmonster out of the mothballs.

Also curious if you can go from level 1 to level 14 naked(with only tutorial weapons), with any class. without dying once, like you could in release days(i had to prove it)

Works out cheaper to re-buy the game again than resub, if you cba to start from 1 doing the same quests etc upto 20. Think its like £2.99 or so now to buy.

For first month maybe, but it's easiest to just get a timecard and stick it on the account if you have the box.

With collectors edition i DO mean box

Crom is probably one of the better servers when it comes to raids. theres a TON of pug raids going there and as far as i've heard theres very very very few ninjas and ppl generally have a pretty good attitude in those raids.

joined a few on my brother in law's account and as long as you let ppl know your not that familliar with the instance ppl will happily give you some slack and talk you through it.

and their imgame support are also pretty decent now. they have a ton of "semi GM's" running around to help with the smaller issues and they are generally pretty fast to. dont think i've had to wait more then an hour max.

Well, most my characters were named 283746239427 since of a server merge, luckily my main (29 dark knight) is as is.

Somewhere in poitain, no idea why and how it's in relation to where i was, so i think i might just start off a new dark knight career. Might solve my UI issues too.

It seems like age of conan really, which was expected. Not really sure if i'm into that again.
