Aphex Twin... They're a bit similar to Prodigy, maybe you'll like them.
Try the track "Come to Daddy" by them.

(Sorry for double post, couldn't edit.)
Try the shoutcast radio function that comes with Winamp. Plenty of different radio stations with different genres that might fit your taste. Browse around.

Random bands that I like. No idea if you'll like them yourself but hey:

Iron Maiden (Don't forget the B Sides! Sherriff of Huddersfield (iirc) etc)
Placebo
Stormtroopers of Death/[S.O.D] (Seasoning the Obese is particularly good ;P)
Testament
Ministry (Jesus built my hotrod etc)
Anthrax (ofc)
Beastie Boys
Godsmack
Bush
Rollins Band
Staind
American Headcharge
Disturbed

To name but a few. Hope it's of help, if not I'll await some smart arse to slag off my list ;>

Oh and of course you can't go wrong with Pink Floyd.

Every Time I Die - I've been gone along time
Refused - The Slayer
Refused - Rather be dead
Nine Inch Nails - March of the pigs
Willy Mason - Oxygen
Biffy Clyro - Eradicate the doubt (fucking amazing)
Black Sabbath - War pigs
As I Lay Dying - 94 hours
The Bled - You know whose seatbelt
Hurry up and kill yourself - Nick Nolte
Avenged Sevenfold - Darkness Surrounding
Bleeding Through - *anything*
Bled For Days - Denying progress

Those songs are some of my favourites by those bands, try a few of them, or anything else by the bands, I guess.

Also have a go at D.A.D. (Disneyland After Dark) if you can find any of their stuff), it's pretty decent.

To whoever posted the link to the Machinae Supremacy website - Cheers! Masquerade, Sidestyler, and Soundtrack to the Rebellion are pretty good for a free band. Better than most commercial rubbish that seems to fill the airwaves these days.

ooh oooh ooh "Open your eyes" i love that one, thats them isnt it?

Yeah, thats Guano Apes, one of their best actually, try You Can't Stop Me, Big in Japan and Pretty in Scarlet if you like that one.

Home internet was down yesterday so spent the afternoon going through the old vinyl and CD collection. Varied taste but the Best stuff I played yesterday:

Vinyl.
Redskins - 12" Bring it down (this insane thing) If you like the Clash you would probably like these guys.
The Cult - 12" She Sells Sanctuary (Howling Mix) bloody masterpiece!
Joy Division - Closer and Still, best albums ever imo. Still - Sister Ray and Ceremony are classics. The live set has versions of Transmission and Isolation recorded only a few weeks before Ian Curtis died. Brings back so many memories.
The Gogo's - Drop the Bomb.
Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks
AC-DC - If You Want Blood.

CDs.
Toad The Wet Sprocket - Fall Down from the album Dulcinea.
Stillskin - Inside from the 'The minds eye' - yeah I know famous jeans ad.
The Eels - Beautiful Freak, Electro-shock Blues, Daises of the Galaxy, Soul Jacker.
The Blue Nile - A walk across the rooftops, 'Tinsel Town In The Rain' is still a classic.
Leftfield - Leftism - Song of Life and Open Up (vocals - J.Lydon) are great tracks. Made me go through my Sex Pistols/PIL stuff.
Garbage - Garbage
Radio Head - The bends

:flame: away!

Suppose you could enjoy most of Tool's works. Pure quality if you ask me.

I've kinda got a broad music taste myself aswell, can even listen to some list music but that's rather rare :)

I'm not going to guarantee you'll like any of this but I'll list some bands/albums I would personally recommend:

Death - Leprosy
Lamb of God - Ashes of the Wake
The Haunted - The Haunted made me do it , rEVOLVEr
The Old Dead Tree - The Nameless Disease

And for my hip-hop input I'll recommend "Non Phixion - The Future is now"

I'll just leave it like that or the list might get a tad long ^^

Lamb of God's other albums are all far better, especially the New American Gospel. :p

I must admit I've not heard of any of Lamb of Gods stuff, what type of metal do they play?

Thrash/death. One of the best bands around at the moment, I thinks. I guess you could say they are one of the leading bands in the 'NWOAHM' along with Shadows Fall and the like.

Suppose I'll have to listen to the other albums aswell then. Just fell in love with the start on "Omerta" and been listening mostly to the "Ashes of the Wake" album.

"Voodoo People" by the prodigy was crystalised during the "trip hop" boom of the mid 90s. Have to say I did specilise in this type of music at the time :)

Similar stuff :

"My Mercury Mouth" - Dust Bros, ( pre chemical brothers)
"Bug Powder Dust" - Bomb the Base
"Sholin Buddha Finger" - Depth Charge
"6 Underground" - Sneaker Pimps
Renegade Soundwave - Renegade Soundwave ( Leftfied Remix)

Check the net out regading getting hold of this stuff, though it will most likely be on CD. The prodigy were the " commercial face " of what was a nice what you could call "brit trip hop" scene - as you say, combining Hip Hop beats with a dirty, industrial and dare i say it drug fueled edge.

Oh well, to each his own, I'm sure there's people who like them.
And for gimpy FOTM Naetha, maybe you should try Evergrey.

VNV make me want to stab strangers in the eye with a spork.

They themselves are ok and quite nice guys. But they are responsible for 1000 EBM bands who sound exactly the same and tend to be comprised of 2 fat bald blokes with goatees.

Allright.

I mean be honest.....show me good lyrics they made. I'm not saying anything about the music, cause it can be nice sometimes (although I prefer Deathmetal), but what they sing is such an utter bollox, I'm at least glad most is in norwegian =) (and don't tell me they suddenly sing other stuff in norwegian than they do in english)

Oh lol, i took you for some random bloke who just made a clueless comment about lyrics like dimmu's while listening to popmusic yourself.

Anyhow, each to his own. I think the lyrics are totally fine, though I don't listen that much to Dimmu nowadays.
Amon Amarth's lyrics kinda appeals more to me now (Beheading of a king, to name on song). Viking metal as some call it. r0x :)

Hmmm hard electronica not so easy to find there's alot of good German stuff out there. It's obscure (if you don't speak German especially so!) but for some reason the Germans are good at heavy music in general
Try some of these:

Fini Tribe
Screaming Trees
Nine Inch Nails
Einstrende Neubeuten (Prolly spelt wrong!)
Pop Will Eat Itself

These are pretty old, but then, so am i :)

On the subject of rap I just got one thing to say: Public Enemy >>> all. Intelligent, subversive and musically threatening. You can keep 50 Cent and all the modern rappers they have nothing more profound to say than S Club Seven. There's a disturbing lack of lyrical imagination, a distinct absence of any rebellion and, worse still, an attitude appears to turn their fans brains off rather than on. Public Enemy simply steamrollered you every track. "It takes a nation of millions" was like 45 minutes of someone beating some damn sense into the world whereas the majority of new hip-hop seems like 45 minutes of "Yeah I like girls but I'm from the street so I've really lived life and I'm really mixed up by it etc.". Public Enemy (et al) was yeah I lived through that now let's not talk about that stuff lets not move the molehill that's my life let's move some mountains and address some real issues. Diluted for the masses imho.
