Never understood what 3D could bring to the viewing experience. Hugo was the only time I have seen 3D done well. Tried it in peoples homes on their TV's and Nvidia PC's on the 3DS and at the cinema, i'll stick to my Blu-rays and wait till hologram tech reaches the masses in 10-20 years time.

Porn. Saw one, no "masterpiece of tech", but put cameron or some other 3d nut working on a 3d porn movie and it'll sell like ass in a jesus convention.

Live sports might benefit from 3D, but films? Not in my opinion. I watched Avatar at the cinema, in 3D it looked great. I watched it at home on 1080p, it still looked great. I didn't miss the 3D aspect.

Ask yourself if any of the truly great films of the last few decades would be improved if shown in 3D. Schindler's List? Saving Private Ryan? The Godfather? Leon? The Big Lebowski? Reservoir Dogs?

Haven't used the 3D available on my TV once yet. 2 pairs of active shutter glasses are gathering dust in the study.

If you watch the Hobbit blogs, I think Jacksons getting it right, he's using the RED 7K cameras with adjustable
'eye' distance, this changes during pan and zoom shots to make it more comfortable for the eye.
I'm hoping Pete will make the best 3D film so far.
I use my 1080 projector onto a botch of a curved screen made from hardboard and white paint, with the 3D glasses on and siiting so the screen fills my peripheral, the effect jumps from looking like a 3D postcard to almost fully immersive, the sense of being there is amazing in one clip I have of the camera walking through a crowd..awesome.

Braindead's amusing when you're a teenager but a good film? Not really.

Not enough long distance artistic shots.

Its not a bad film, granted last time I saw it was when I was a teenager. Though I can see myself watching it, unlike other teenage 'favorites' like Mallrats or any early Smith film with the exception of Clerks.
