I loved the menacing mask that Jack wore as he took Logan, and the fact that they didn't show him killing the Russians. I can't wait to see what will happen in the final two episodes, and how they'll set up the film.
At the same time, i don't know, there just felt like there was something missing truely from the last 2 episodes, especially when they're the final episodes ever of 24.
No Kim Bauer or her daughter, or even any correspondence. Although i don't know entirely since the mobile phone video he made might have been for her, but it didn't seem like it was.
The "heel turn" by President Taylor was hilarious and awesome at the same time. Nice bit of blackmail involved which was lovely, but it seemed completely out of character for her to do such a thing. Been saying that since this whole conspiracy started though i guess...
Also found it hard to believe that President Logan could not off himself correctly, yet it was great that he survived at the same time. Bit of a bastard for killing his assistant-guy though! Funt!
So the United States want to capture Bauer now, in the past it has usually been the case where since he redeemed himself, the President would grant some form of immunity to him, but with the fact that she was inevitably going to lose her presidency maybe that had a part in it?
The Russians want him too for obvious reasons, which is probably going to lead upto the movie(s) i keep hearing about, but the fact that he has no backing of the United States government, what exactly could he do. This is a totally different scenario to the 24: Redemption/Sangala storyline where he was forced into conflict when he didn't want too.
Lastly for this epic tale... The ending was awesome, but how am i to believe that Jack was able to escape/leave the country without getting any form of medical attention, he had a stab wound with stitches, and an open wound from a gunshot. He can't exactly waltz into a hospital and be treated for those, and im sure the dirty ships they use to leave the country don't have decent medical supplies either!
I never really liked Dalia Hassan, but I thought she was great in the scene where el presidente told her about the Russians. Really believable performance for me.
Just watched the final two parter on Sky tonight. What a tremendous season it was. Had the usual lull, and a couple of 24 cliches, but overall one of the strongest seasons of the series.
I will miss Jack. But you can be sure he'll never miss.
