Thought the results tonight in the beginning were a nightmare, but by the end of it thankfully it wasn't so bad.

Next up though, we have Southampton. A relegation 6-pointer. So, nil-nil

After Wednesday beat Newcastle I was going to make a joke about Saints winning a game being the shock of the day.

All of the commentators and pundits are absolutely chugging Nunez's balls over that finish. He fluked it in off his shin ffs. The skill in that goal was the TAA pass.

So from what I've read, the only goal that was able to utilise VAR this weekend was... *Checks notes*... Everton.

Fucking typical that init.

Ironically people are actually moaning about is the assistant ref view, which is what it becomes without VAR.

They had VAR but VAR got it wrong.

It's there to correct mistakes, but it didn't.

I know they had VAR but it was outside Camera range thus they went with the Assistants decision, you know the way you and few other whinge bags want it.

"Outside camera range"

Fucking lol. Pathetic. The opposing manager had an angle.

And yes. Scrap VAR . Go with humans.

They went with the human view and idiots like you still moan any way.

What is 'The opposing manager had an angle' mean, if this means what it sounds like then you've gone full idiot. You don't like VAR but seem to want to trust what managers see from far away running around like twats complaining.

Not going to be scrapped, no matter how much you and a few other vocal people endlessly whinge about it.

Which is exactly what happened. There wasn't an angle they could use to definitively overrule the linesman so... they didn't. There were replays that looked like it was onside just from how the corner-taken entered the frame but they weren't good enough to say for sure so they went with the human.

And the opposing manager said there was an image where it looked like it might've been offside - there wasn't because it wasn't offside as phone footage from the stands has confirmed. So you're just latching onto anything anybody said because you think you can use it to kick VAR when it wasn't even fucking used.

Julen Lopetegui claimed Toti’s late goal that would have knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup should not have been ruled offside, with the Wolves manager claiming his “tactical camera” proved this

Sorry to "latch on to anyone" ("anyone" being the fucking Wolves manager) - saying he had a view from his "tactical camera".

And yes, VAR didn't help - so they used the assistant ref. Brill. Lets do away with VAR then - because it comes at a fucking big cost - and it's not solving any controversy. So lets go back to what fucking worked for decades. Thanks for making my argument for me.

I thought you meant Stropp, as he was "the opposing manager" in the context of the controversy (ie not the manager of the team who had had a goal disallowed) and he said the above in the post-match press conference.

VAR has access to all the broadcast cameras and some dedicated ones for judging offsides. What were they supposed to do, take even more time to go and look at the teams' own cameras? Maybe they can go on the tannoy and ask the fans if they have any footage on their phones they can have a quick look at?

Of all the times VAR has been used, I don't think there have been more than a couple of cases (I can't actually think of any others) where they haven't had footage to make a decision - quite a few times where they've had the footage but can't make definitive conclusions from it so go with the on-field decision but very rarely do they actually not have the footage. It seems sensible in these extremely rare cases to put their hands up and go with the linesman's decision.

Acting like this is a massive I TOLD YOU SO gotcha to get rid of VAR is insane.
