These insta bans for "unelite" behaviour may be suitable on a private clan server, but on a public server you have to make allowances.
Im going to make some changes to the setup of the BW TFC servers soon.
If you want to suggest settings for a "Etiquette" server then i'll be happy to look at those (dont want to simply steal WirePlays ideas) (i want to Steal their ideas and then make them better).
I currently dont like the "newbie" "elite" labels on the server names, they dont reflect playing style on them at all - I'm thinking more of having the names give an indication of player limits...like BW TFC1 - No Snipers etc.
I'd love to hear suggestions on any kind of special servers (LIKE an Etiquette).

As for the rest of you, its a touchy subject and many shades of grey with TFC and many people like myself feel very strongly about particular issues but I have the upmost respect for you all and I opologise if I have offended anyone .

Theres one thing id like to do though, and that would be to disable the snipers autorifle.
Dont know what fool came up with the idea for that weapon, which completely defeats the image of a sniper.
A Sniper is accepted to be someone who is deadly at long range, but who is crap at close range.
With the TFC sniper, they are good at long range and their stupid autorifle makes them good at close range too.

One that springs around a mad like a cat on heat exploiting halflifes crap network code.
Or one that uses his medic pack once in a while, other than to infect people when he's got the hump against people who are pissing him off.
Just disable the 'duck' command, enforce easy if it's possible.
Btw surely it's just as easy to spot somebody whois Bunny jumping at twice his speed, as it is spot somebody whois spamming, or dm'ing or whatever.
Can't enforce it my arse, more like you would have no intrest in supporting the idea of proper team play, thus the medic rush v's soldier defence remains in place.
That is why you want this server set up isn't it?
Not because we can have an actual game of proper team fortress.
Just bend all the rules so we have a team full of medics rushing constant, against a team full of soldiers playing defence, with nothing to get in the way.

I considered setting this server up because the community has shown an interest in one. If i was desperate for it myself, i would of done it ages ago.
There is no "accepted" image for a medic, a medic is a fairly new concept to online games, whereas a sniper is an old concept whose strengths and weaknesses are well defined. Anyone implementing a medic into an online action game can represent them however they wish without conflicting with a trend - maybe TFC is even setting the medic trend that others will follow in the future.
Cannot enforce it = there would have to be an admin on the server 24/7. This is unrealistic and would just result in people moaning and accusations whenever someone does a slightly 'funny' jump ("You lame Bunny hopper i'll have you banned") etc.
This is the format of clan based competition in TFC. I think a request for a server which allows people to practice this kind of play is a perfectly reasonable request.

TFC is full of whining cunts, but most of them are soldiers, who moan when you play HWG O w/SSG on 2fort because there's an all soldier D of 6 guys on the other team :/
Oh well, TFC is a good game, just all the HL lamers ruined it. Not only is the HL engine thoroughly old and shit, but HL has the biggest following of llamas ever seen in online gaming...

So basically then all this 'sniper autofire' lark is pure bull, because at the end of the day you may as well copy and paste wireplays rule book into your own.
I still fail to understand just how you would enforce any ruling though if you can't enforce somebody bj'ing which stands out a country mile if somebody is doing it correctly.
Surely you would need an admin on there 24/7 to enforce anything?
Unless that is ofcourse you give some 'fan boy' the admin rights who will no doubt go about kicking people for no reason what so ever half the time.

Basically you have all played through HL in single player mode, remember the jump pack on the training mode, or later in the game.
Well if you remember the jumping that can done whilst using the pack, then it's virtually the same as can be done in tfc without the pack.
Then you take into consideration that the 'medic' 'scout' classes move at the speed of a 'packed jump' anyway, and add the jumping speed on top, it's a joke what can be done.
If you remeber the clock speed hack from last year, proper bunny hopping is the same speed as that, if not faster in tfc.
Then you have to sit back and remember that TFC is a class balanced team game, not a deathmatch game
