It's not dead.

It's just full of people that the biggots love to hate.

With Tfc being a doddle to play, it has plenty of followers, about 80% of which are 'lamers' in the eyes of people like moon.

I don't see why BT'ing is considered so bad.

All good players do this on publics. I mean, if you know everyone on your radar has died at one choke point the odds are that very soon you'll be expecting trouble from behind.

Why not just backtrack or wait for that trouble to arrive rather then just 'letting' yourself and your teamies get buttf*cked.

As for clannys and BT'ing. I think you'll find once you hold the bombsite it's quite good to lay down ambushes away from it on paths that you know the other team 'have' to use to get to them - i.e. the ledge bit on the right hand side bs (as CT) before the ladder to the sniping roof.

But then I prefer the MR12 rules to CO rules... my two pence anyways.

Heh, for all you peeps watching my play first person yesterday - yes, I am that bad. Especially when stoned and laughing at a drunken Jobbie.

You misunderstand BTing dolly....

Say on 2fort.... you jump over balc as a medic and conc jump over to the enemy balc...

A medic runs past you from their team on offence, he then decides to follow you in shooting you.... That is a form of BTing..

BTing is essentially following/shooting enemy offence players back into your base from midfield....

BTing isnt when you go back a bit while in an attack in the enemy base ;)


and as for Itchy's post....

Guys like that dont deserve to air their views, when they have allready spent hours ranting in #barrysworld. and probably many more hours to loads of other people accross IRC.

Its a classic reaction by idiot cs players over a new version... "oh no its shit, i cant jump anymore, omg cs is dead, ill go play UT"

But they never stop playing CS, they play it just as much as they used to, whinging constantly.... Then they get used to it and stfu :)

And so the CS cycle continues :p

never played it, well i did once, and it had all thses Characters you could play, i got confused picked the top one coz it had a "Nail Gun" lol, ran round an empty map and quit.. was far to complicated for meh

No, I'm not a lamer, I'm not the fucking one that praises TFC. You are on of those whingy gits who complains when he gets killed fairly (i.e. backtracking). If you can't take it don't play the fucking game.

No, there's a place for backtracking and thats public barrysworld servers, all I am saying is I prefer to play league style TFC on clan run or wireplay run servers with strict rules on lamers .

I play the game I've taken part in our premiership clans and do very well, getting killed by someone on a public isnt ever going to bother me .

Correct me if I'm wrong but you were the one here that stated bw servers are n00b servers, all I did was agree explain why this is for the TFC comunity .

I do recall many BW forum users one time not understanding qw, well same thing thier just out of touch with TFC also .

The main TFC comunity of the UK is far from taking interest in barrysworld and I think that stinks, they call some of thiers servers elite yet dont even turn sniper off .

Well of course they don't turn sniper off, seeing as it's included to be played. About the n00b server statement, I was joking, there are some good players on there.

I just really hate rules such as backtracking, incidently, I almost got banned off a server because I infected someone, they ran past, and I turned around and shot them and they died. He turned out to be an admin (and a twat). I hate all these rules people makeup (like the T2 no camping with flag)

There's servers which you can use that dont have these rules, why not just use those and be done with it ?

If you'd played offence for a clan in a match you would understand, and then when you want a game of TFC you arnt looking for hl DM but a team game with an admin there to enforce this .

Well, I saw it, but what I mean is, as a "total n00b" player to TFC, "Do not backtrack" doesn't really mean a lot to me, and I take it "Do not use inappropriate defensive classes" has some sort of convention to it too.

So say your playing a clan match 8v8 on 2fort with 4 offy and 4 def on each team. Say the 2 sets of 4 off decide to both simultaneously attack each other via the bridge, do you mean that they would all stroll past each other on the bridge, wave good day to each other and then go to hammer the defence players?

Just wanna make sure I get this backtracking thing straight.

Right ho fairy nuff if that's how the leagues are played and how clan players like it. However calling a server "Etiquette server" is, in my opinion, not the way to go, as it is a very arrogant statment. "League Rules server" would be more appropriate.

I dont really agree with backtracking totally, but there is a valid argument in favour of it. Its easier to understand if youve played top flight TFC, you can see its annoyance, and see the benefits of not doing it :)

But I dont think people should try and control as hard as they do on public servers...

See I cant beleive hardly anyone from barrysworld knows much about TFC.

Skyler seems to know the score but with so many people being shocked by this its somehting bw are never going to come to grips with .

Nah I used to play TFC and knew about the existence of a backtracking rule, but was never clear as to what it was. I have to confess I didn't know about the DM rules and "inapproprieate choice of defense class" one.

The fact we didn't know about it simply implies that there aren't many TFC posters here. As much as anyone would like to deny it, and despite it being a HL + mods forum, it's basically just CS, and hence CS players. The BW TFC liaison who chooses what the settings for the servers are undoubtedly does know about these things. Have you spoken to them?

BWorld would probably do better on a public scale if there were some changes made to the servers.. but thats the Liaisons job...

Things like tfc admins leaving the admin channel permanently due to a tiny bit of banter from other admins doesnt help the cause...

TFC players can be very petty :)
