Just curious what you lot would say your top five comedy films would be. Much as I love the old epic classics, nothing beats introducing one of your mates to a comedy they haven't seen before, and hearing them roar with laughter at scenes you've laughed at ten times before.

In no particular order, mine would be:

Happy Gilmore
Baseketball
Mallrats
TommyBoy
Weird Science

And I'm feeling guilt because I've had to leave the wedding singer out. I'm hoping this thread will throw up some films I've never heard of, because I fancy watching some new comedies.

P.S. Blazing Saddles style humour causes me to loathe.

P.P.S. Add the worst comedy too just as a preventative measure. I'm torn on this, but I think the worst comedy might just be Mr Deeds. Or... Waterboy.

American Pie
Meet The Parents (Nice to see there's a sequel in the works : Meet The Fockers :))
Baseketball
Evil Dead 2 (Was that the one where he tries to kill his own possessed hand? 'Cos that just brought tears of laughter to my eyes :D)

Can't think of any more tbh...

They'd be in my top 5, also, I'd add Dumb and Dumber. Not sure why but that always makes me laugh, perhaps it's because I'm a big kid :D

As for the rest, cant think of any more just now.

The Blues Brothers,
Stripes,
American Pie Series,
Animal House,
Caddyshack,

That was more difficult than I thought.

Worst, The Jerk, I normally like Steve Martin but that was not one of his best, possibly not the worst comedy I have seen but the disappointment increased its 'badness' quotient.
