I can't think of a really good film that came out this year. There was plenty of entertainment (Bourne Identity, Attack of the Clones), plenty of utter shite (Spiderman, Bond), and a couple of also-rans (28 Days Later, Red Dragon)... can't think of anything truly great though. Here's looking forward to Matrix Revolutions/Hulk/T3.

Heh, glad to see someone else liked this.

Not in my top 5 - but up there for entertainment.

Oh, and Winona Ryder - I would. ;)

Panic Room, because it was technically immaculate. The Time Machine was on the ok'ish side of things. Spiderman was kind of enjoyable'ish... I'm running out of ideas here...The Sum Of All Fears was good and... oh oh Ice Age would be near the top as well. And throw Signs in there somewhere also. :)

So, in less confusingness, we have:
 1. Panic Room
 2. Ice Age
 3. The Sum Of All Fears
 4. Signs
 5. Spiderman
 6. The Time Machine
Minority Report, Ice Age and Signs are the only 3 that stick out. Lots of good films, not so many great ones.

The Two Towers, right at the the end of the year, but surely the best of the year as well.

Signs wasn't really scary at all, but it was just so well made and acted.

Signs was fucking awful.

My Five:
 1. Changing Lanes
 2. Ice Age
 3. Red Dragon
 4. Lord of the Rings: The Twin Towers
 5. Star Wars: Episode 2
um. I thought there was a lot of shite out tbh.
for what it's worth:

LotR/FotR (extended - not the short version heh)
Sum of all Fears was okish
Resident Evil, but only due to wierd fantasies about Rain's lips heh
Dog Soldiers

I've seen LotR/TTT but, heh, I'll wait till the extended version gets released fs

Saw the Two Towers today. It doesn't make my top 5.

Not as good as Fellowship IMHO.

wait for the extended speshul tweaked (normal) edition box gift set. that's the only one that will be worth watching, just like with FotR heh. for the life of me I can't come up with any reasons for screwing with the films like that other than cash-based ones

Haven't seen it yet. Ordered the Tin today along with Marrying the Mafia (top domestic film in Korea in 2002).

Friend is the biggest film in Korean history IIRC. My Sassy Girl is the biggest selling Korean DVD in history though. (I should know - I have bought 6 of them in one guise or the other :p )

Resident Evil

Resident Evil was a Paul Anderson movie, the same muppet who made Mortal Kombat and Soldier. Despite a distinct lack of talent at birth he's made one hell of a career for himself directing huge budget movies (Soldier was a 75 million dollar failure).

Credit to the man, he's shit and no one in Hollywood seems to know it. Bad thing is he's now making AVP, so you can expect him to screw up two film licences at the SAME time.

Oh deary gosh.

Resident Evil was wank...not really a game conversion. Was some stylish stuff with colours.

Someone mention Jin-Roh:The Wolf Brigade. That started well but was downhill from there.

George Lucas keeps masturbating on reels of film and then tries to sell it as the next star wars installment. Attack of the Clones sucked bad.

Was Le Pacte des loups (Brotherhood of the Wolf) out in 2001 or 2? That was quite good...very stylish opening fight scene.

I thought Sen/Spirited Away was too Japanese for my tastes. Found there was little continuity. Shame after Mononoke.

1. Y tu mamá también
2. Donnie Darko
3. Dog Soldiers
4. Blade II (Guillermo del Toro is a dude)
5. Princess Mononoke (Was made in '97 but had select release in 2002. Hayao Miyazaki is another dude.)
