Your Top 5 films of 2002?

Been a strange year for me filmwise. Not too much happening on the Hollywood front - but this has been more than made up for by my discovery of Korean Cinema. This is reflected in my choice of top 5.

  • (1) My Sassy Girl - a Korean film so fresh, inventive and funny it makes me want to weep.

    (2) Il Mare - another Korean film. This time a drama/romance which is shot with such beauty it puts most of the Hollywood shit to shame.

    (3) Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones - almost lived up to my expectations. Pure entertainment.

    (4) Minority Report - fantastically scripted and paced.

    (5) Ice Age - funny as hell. Beats the crap out of Monsters inc.

I *know* LOTR: The Two Towers is out soon and I am sure this would be in there when I see it - but I really doubt it would beat my top 2.

:)

(1) Minority Report
(2) We were Soldiers Once
(3) Resident Evil
(4)Lord of the Rings
(5) Episode 2: Attack of the Clones

(if 51st state was released this year, i'll stick it at 5 and remove the Star Wars film)

I dont think i've seen any others this year :/

Films are about 6 quid a view here, with much of it either a) languages are subtitled in Arabic instead of English (hence mucho confusion during LoTR) b) edited out due to "religious conflicts". which is stupid really, as theres only a U and 18 out here, with very very few being 18's (and those that are get 12's in the UK ffs :( )

ADSL HERE

basicly :
130 quid per month for line rental
34 quid for installation
86 quid for the ADSL equipment

which comes to about: 250 quid for my first month of using ADSL

AND its only 512 kbps (with 128 kbps upstream)

1. Road to Perdition
2. Black Hawk Down. (I saw it in January)
3. Attack of the Clones
4. Dog Soldiers
5. Minority Report (just though, too many mistakes in the film, which annoyed me.)

All in all, a pretty pish year regarding films imho.

Christ, forgot about Ep 2.

Oh well, it'd be #6, with Goldmember at 7.

Dog Soldiers would be in the top 10 too, as would Vanilla Sky.

Minority Report (buy an umbrella)
Res Evil
Donnie Darko (a must see more than once move, that i only got to see once)

cant remember any more.

as for terrible movies, blade2 ranks pretty high. and someone mentioned the 51st state. that is the worst movie s jackson has ever done, ever. completely abominable.

I'm still in St Andrews as I am still hungover from the Xmas dinner on Thursday night. Damn you free red wine. I think the particular vintage we drank called "Fat Bastard" has probably rotten out most on my innards. And my legs hurt. I do not know why.

It's been a pretty kerayzy week tbh.
