Coming from a country with a law that says you MUST help, I can only laugh at Tris tbh. I have never needed to do anything other than call an ambulance once but I can remember a day when I tripped on the trainstation(ice) and plunged headfirst into the ground to open my eyes and see 6 people asking if im alright and helping me up.

they did basic first aid when i was in school as part of fire safety, although it only went as far as putting someon int he recovery position if they arent breathing check the airway i cant remember how to do cpr as this was primary school and i was more interested in the free stuff they gave us

To help someone is more immoral than to walk on by?
I would have thought the moral ethics would be to look after one another, because we are all alike? How can you possibly walk past someone who may be being sexually assaulted and see that as more moral than helping her and minimizing the chance of her suffering for the rest of her life?
I think this is more a case of you needing to put the shoe on the other foot. You would want someone to help you if you were being attacked, or someone to care if you suddenly had a heart attack in the street. You may say you don't, but subconsciously you would.
I don't know what else to say really. I really hope you chance your stance on this and realise that helping someone is much more morally acceptable, culturally acceptable and just damnright more caring than walking on by and turning a blind eye.

no, he said it was immoral to force someone to help a stranger, he didnt say anything about helping them out of your own choice
