And if I could shit diamonds all my money problems would be a thing of the past! I'd probably have some colon problems though...Less that if all those people just gave to charity direct instead of buying.
Then they would actually be fighting against X-Factor/Simon Cowell by not putting money into their shameful, marketing based industry.

Jesus how many times does it need to be said that people aren't fighting X-Factor or Cowell, more for the Christmas number one spot, that's all.Less that if all those people just gave to charity direct instead of buying.

You'd be better off giving money to a homeless person on the street.
Back in the early '90s I had this artist friend. Day job painting signs on ships at a shipyard in Fife, at nights he was heavily into drawing/painting manga and did a lot of freelance stuff. Very talented guy.
One night he showed me this wierd-looking/disturbing album with a monk on fire.
Fuck me the album was awesome.
I'll confess though I haven't listened to RATM in quite a long time until this.
However, Cowell's production machine which has coldly manipulated the Christmas No. 1 for the last few years has had a kicking, whether people argue about this or that minor point, or quibble about Sony making money.
The success of the Rage Against The Machine record was a grassroots thing that kicked off out of nowhere.
RATM was set up by Sony as a stalking horse for the X-Factor single; create a real rival to Joe whathisface and instead of taking 350K sales to get to number one, it takes 450 or 500K (with the added irony that the typical RATM fan is far more likely to pirate than buy). The X-Factor fans go out and buy more singles to block RATM. As it happens, RATM "won" but thanks to it being a Sony label release; Cowell gets a. more sales for his X-Factor single than he would have for an uncontested no.1, and b. all the RATM sales for his parent label (who he still works for along with his Syco businesses).
That almost works Gaff, except for the fact that Alexander Burke, last year, sold 576,000, copies for the xmas No.1, compared to 450,000 odd for Joe. Without the benefit of an orchestrated campaign against her. So yes, more sales overall, but definately not more for his x-factor puppet, in fact significantly less.
Joe whatshisface
Actually that just makes my point. Alexandra Burke didn't need 576,000 copies to get to number one, but she achieved that number anyway because female solo artists do much better than male ones and she had no competition. Joe whatisface would have got to number one with no more than 300-350K (possibly less) without the competition from RATM. With it, he needed 450-500 and the X-Factor sockpuppet audience duly obliged, and very nearly succeeded.
You have about six years evidence of x-factor shit to say that female artists do better than male ones? I highly doubt the deciding factor is gender.
Secondly, even though he only needed 300-350k, whats to say he wouldn't have got the amount he did (or even more) without the RATM stuff?
You're just picking numbers and scenarios out of the air that supports your original statement lol.
