You can accuse them of corruption all you want, the reality is the English knew this, tried to play the game, but werent capable.

Even the countries they tried to bribe for votes (whats a home friendly vs England worth to the likes of Thailand?) didnt vote for them.

Its not the first time in recent years England have been through this process. They knew the rules, they knew how it REALLY works, bitching about it afterwards is just plain idiotic.

Maybe when the 2030 bidding comes around we should just say, openly, here's £2million for each delegate, so long as we get the tournament. That would make it a more transparent process.

This country couldn't handle a World Cup.

The police wouldn't be able to handle the endless thugs that would suddenly start coming out of the wood work starting massive fights etc.

People say the hooligans have been erradicated but it's definatly still there and rears its ugly head every now and then.

The transport system would probably melt under the strain as well, our Rail Ways are surely one of the worst in the world for delays etc.

Load of crap. Euro 96 only had one bit of trouble and the transport infrastructure is a shitload better than South Africa's, Brazil's or Russia's. England could easily host a World Cup, and that's part of the problem, Blatter's WC strategy is all about "legacy"; if he has the option, he'll always go for the country that hasn't had a world cup over the one that has. England already has plenty of "legacy" so he's not interested,
