thats a completely useless comparison, considering that no-one has a PS3, we dont know about there bugs and its worth

also... what do you meen by the wii's are faulty? the wii-mote getting thrown around? thats not a fault as far as i see it, the people who are having those faults have no concept of grip, but tbh witch console doesn't at release...

if you want to properly use the 360, you need the HD witch costs like 60ish...
wii comes with a free game and costs 175ish, probably can knock £40 pounds off cause thats how much games cost

spammed on ebay comment, that also has no real point... both 360 and PS3 will be spammed on ebay for like 2-4months after release

as i said the PS3 isn't due for a release for 6months, might just be in japan, idk, in witch time blue ray price will be slashed... but really who wants a blue ray player?.. HD is totally overrated, and unless you have a fuck off TV then you cant really appreciate the differance

so heres my version of your list

Wii: £175: wiimote
Xbox: £270: HD, internet, dvd player, media centre
PS3: £500(ish): has rights to popular game series, internet, and a HD dvd player(but the 'race' for popular HD dvd player is still being played out, and this part of the console may turn out to be useless)

so... heres a review

Wii: original game play type(interactive), cheep, and exceptible graphics(by my standards)
360: same price as PS1+2 GC, XBox at release(or neer), can be synced with your PC, nice graphics(by my standards) basically a pimped up XBox
PS3: the same games you've been playing since PS1, but with incredible graphics

Of course it is bud because you are an online game head like myself But.... 75% of gamers out there have no interest (some dont have the ability either) in connecting to the internet to play games, also alot of parents would not want thier kids playing online and chatting with adults so that rules out an awful lot of other people as well. For them the core package is ideal, the £70 they save buys a couple of extra games for little Timmy

The Wii is fun, but as per another post on the forum, this fun is short lived until the novelty wears off and you realise that you don't need to stand there swinging the remote like a prat towards the screen to hit the ball - The gyro picks up movement in any direction. You can play golf looking the other direction, tennis appears to be the one that picks up different directions and that is only to diferentiate between left and right (I spelt differentiate wrong I know)

I suspect the controller operates in the way it does on Wii Sports to make the game easy to play. It does seem to know where the controller is but lets you get away with it to make the games easier. The test for the controller will be the 2nd and 3rd generation titles that attempt to fully utilise it, only then will we know how much can be done with it.

i feel this is a mute point. it works out cheaper in the long run for you to buy the premium pack.

not only is the HDD bundled in but also extra controllers and a better A/V lead.

its also needed for ripping music to, for people not fortunate enough to have a pc and haxed windows.

You are missing the point Tris, not one of those things are NEEDED to play the games. Yes the premium pack is great value and works out much cheaper in the long run but not for those people who buy a console for the kids and are not arsed about either online gaming or ripping music for customised soundtracks. There are alot of people out there who will never buy the hard drive until they are forced to as an upgrade simply because they don't require it to do what they bought the console for which is straightfoward gaming.

nope, i stear away from online games... cept DAoC.. cause people generally beet the shit out of me what ever i play

i like the free demo's + trailers... and those puzzle games you can dl, hex rocks its the only thing i do on my 360

Reason for xbox360 are the games available and that will come during next year. GoW was great and I'm looking forward to Lost Planet.
edit: Wii looks interesting, but the lack of HD output makes it ..less interesting. Gamecube really looks crap on the 90" screen..

All great looking games, all got 90%+ reviews from multiformat magazines and websites. Need I continue? Oh go on then. You mention MGS, all that has been shown so far is pre-rendered sequences and you have based your opinion on that, just like all the people that bought into the E3 2005 shambles when Sony tried to con the media in believing that Killzone 2 was real time ingame engine generated graphics. Turns out 1 week later that the video was pre-rendered on an alpha SDK that had no CELL or Nvidia GPU, so basically it was more movie than game.

Now for your DVD comment, go up oh about 2 pages and read what I said eariler, it contained some technical stuff that you obviously missed. I will do a little recap just incase. Gears of War is stunning looking, yes or no? Gears of War takes up 4.3gb of space. Now please tell me why we need 25gb to have great games discs again.

Overdriven, you are a good guy but I have to question if you have actually seen any top X360 games running in HD. The difference is night and day between PS2 and X360 graphically, ok alot of early 360 games were ports but that was always going to be the way until the other next generation consoles were released. Alot of the newer games being released now are visually superb, right up there with the best looking PC games in many ways.

Now if you mean gameplay wise then I can accept that, some mighty fine games out on the PS2 that are a ton of fun to play. I haven't seen a 'PS3 will be crappy' comment in this thread, anyone who actually believes it will be crappy needs a brain MRI scan quickly, as I said above I am sure it will be a fine machine once the platform matures.

I don't think the Ps2 is a scratch on the Xbox, but i never have liked Playstations. Stuck with my N64, then my xbox, now my 360 :]

Its might be wild speculation but as games have evolved so has the media to store them on it stands to reason that as games get better longer and more involved they will need more media. And you need 25gb for hours upon hours of stunning looking metal gear solid cut scenes. But if you really think that in 5 years time games will still be on one dvd i will accept that i do not know how the games industry runs. But just like pc games went from 1 to 2 to 4 cds and are now on 1 sometimes 2 dvds i do not think that in 5 years 4gb will be enough.

If the current gears of war is 4gb, if they get more complex graphics ect for gears of war that need more space, will you be happy with game thats half the lengh but looks better than the first? I do not know that will be the case but its what i expect.

Nor can i honestly see microsoft keeping 4 gb enough i think they will make it hd dvd only just so every one has to spend £100 on the drive.

The other game you mention are all new versions of old games and that seems to be a big complaint about the ps3 is it will just be remakes of old games with better graphics, with the exception of gears of war there has not been one new game on the 360 that i would consider epic.

And im basing my feelings about MGS on the fact that everytime a new mgs comes out it is a graphics step up so do i belive that the new mgs will have excelent graphics yes i do.

All i can do is speculate becuase i do not have a ps3 mgs and i do not know what microsoft will do, just like hit man 1 one cd hit man 2 was 2 cds and now blood money is a dvd i think speculating new versions of games will need bigger media is sensible.
