theres no reason to, unless your buying new kit

im not buying new kit apart from maybe a couple more monitors, i remeber there used to be some pci geforce cards which had 2 dvi ports. ive looked all over and only found that its mainly agp and pci-e cards that have dual dvis now.

Don't think anyone else cares now but OcUK have the first Powercolor X800 XL up for preorder.

Powercolor X800 XL

Sadly £234 is way out of my price range. The market is incredibly top heavy at the moment, with large amounts of high end cards costing £200+ and very few midrange £100-£160 which I would consider reasonable for a single PC component.

I paid £150 for my radeon 9700 non-pro nearly 2 years ago and it ran doom3 and HL2 with no problems so will be sticking with this for the moment.

i just spent £300 on a X800XT Platinum vtd-256, my old card was radeon 9800XT 256, gotta say im so damn impressed with this new card.

first of all, it just looks so damn sexy :), all iv done so far is try out benchmark 2003 and 2005 & aqumark atm. When i get more time ill do benchmarks from doom3,UT2004 and X2.

anyway, benchmark 2003, went from 5700(ish) to 11200(ish)
Benchmark 2005, went from 1700(ish) to 5500(ish)
Aquamark, went from 39000(ish) to 50000(ish)

i know benchmark scores arnt the best things to go by, as manufactures tweak drivers to give em a better advantage, but i hope you can see how it does fair up.

my hardware is

Athlon 3000+
2xNanya 512 DDR 400
Abit AN7

Wow that's a pretty nice leap in the benchmarks. Instead of wasting money on 64-bit and PCI-express I might just stick w/ what I've got and buy a new graphics card.
