I do have a 7970 sat there gathering dust but I've got no idea if it still works or not. It gets hot as hell I know that much but after digging around the net I found out that was an ongoing problem with almost all 7970's... problem is I don't fancy mailing it half way around the world lol are you in the UK per chance?
i got a 460 gtx you can have for free but i guess you dont want to down grade
Sweden mate. That'd be peachy. Where do you live?
It is the thought that counts. I´ll pass though!
I've got a 6870 i've hardly used and most likely never will i can part with.
It's better then my 650 gtx but it needs way more power and i can't be arsed to get a new PSU for it.
IMO if you don't want to buy brand new go eBay you can pick some nice cards there for cheap, GTX 670s go for around £150-£200.
Isn't that a bit like buying a second hand condom though? - it's bound to be a bit battered?
I mean, £200 is pretty expensive for something that could be wrecked.
A 660 is between £150-£200 which is considered to be a mid range card. So yes they got a bargin for a 670.They didn't really, there is no way you need to spend that for top end graphics these days...maybe in a year or so when graphics make some improvements with the new consoles but as it stands spending any more than £150 on a new graphics card would be like buying a Aston Martin to do the school run. Complete waste of time.
What do you mean? Equivalent I don't think exists between old and new cards these days.Isn't there a 'new' generation card that is equivalent to the 9800, and if so, what is it? - I don't want to be considering a upgrade to the same card more or less.
whats your budget??
I need a new processor as-well though, I think that's where the true problem lay.. but I also am aware I need a new graphics card, I'd like something decent, but not top of the range, yano, something like 2 years old or something that goes for like £100, as Moriath said, Isn't the 660 being phased out for the 760, I'd assume that'd imply the 660 goes down massively in price?
Best buck for my buck!
'Bad ATI drivers' are a historical myth, I think...
