wow wins cause of:

1. better engine just runs smoother
2. atmosfeer finaly normal music and REAL WARCRAFT style
3. WoW is already more advanced then daoc even though daoc is out for 3 years
4. Good and fun questing system
5. Better balancing classes
6. A provider that cares about there customers
7. Better support ingame


well i can keep this going for a list to about 2000 but ill keep it short that said wow is just so much more better then daoc in every damn way

played pvp server in beta. lvl 20+ is pvp enabled areas. tho only a few of them actualy have enemies in them so can safe lvl to 60 if you like. but ofc the closer you get to enemy the more you meet. Elf's start in horde, and undead in alliance. so the areas around them is often quite buisy.

And ofc how often do you meet someone that doesnt attack you even if you cant attack them in their home areas?

I just had a 54 warlock and 44 rogue deleted so I am a bit bitter So far in wow I have more fun in almost every sense. It's more intuitive, especially to daoc'ers, it's smoother, it's bigger and generally better thought out.

Yes there are issues and stuff that needs balancing, but that will change. Blizzard have a nice way of candy coating their nerfs, it's not just a testicle ripping experience of loss and misery.

After reading about NF on these balls, I am really happy I put away my radar and hung up my harp all those months ago

PvP w/o face or stick as a tankie is not very easy, but that doesn't mean its not fun

would like to add that so far wow(from my point of view) is a game that takes some successfull stuff from previous mmorpgs while avoiding some very bad stuff(that is: cc power, interruptions, buffbots, expgrind etc and also many minor things like still staying in group when going ld ). It still has a LOT of things to be worked on though. PvP system being the most noticable.

well wow beta have made me cancel my daoc sub already, even tho it aint out until late jan.

i even have a fotm ranger in this patch of daoc, and just got zephyr/RR 7 ^^ but the zerging and lagg just killed it for me realy

wow is fun no matter what u do (i know it's all new atm, and will change).

As master Engineer in Wow, I've created Remote controls to use on mechanical mobs in Gnomeregan !! a combine harvester Unit (aka a lvl 35 pet ) to fight in emergencies. Was about to farm for "fused Wiring" to make a resusitation unit also but clipse has been deleted :<. Guess who rox ?

For now most of the promised PvP features are either not in yet, or not complete. Theyll hopefully be sorted out in time for the Euro release: whenever that is.

Did some PvE in WOW lastnight, and it's fun. Me and outlaw went to some port from booty bay, and landed in horde teritory surrounded by lots of eager horde.

The combat is completely different to DAOC, because if a tank attacks you, these is alot of different things you can do to fight back, its not just perma interrupt, standing there screaming for heals in Ventrilo.

It makes me laugh when I think of the Wizard IGN boards where everyone begs for new utility in wizard line just to hear "NO, NO, NO, NO, etc" but in wow you are a mage, with pb root, u can sheep 1 person as method of CC, u can bolt, u can nuke which damages the enemy as u r casting, u can blow a blizzard on tanks in front of u to slow them down, the aoe nukes u have to aim with precision. And their is NO AOE mezz !!! there are quick nukes with low damage, or slow nukes with hugh damage, basically 2 QB's full of stuff.

My daoc wizard can mmm DD, and bolt, and occasionally single root. period.

well wow has the advantage, that they can see how all the other mmorpg have changed, and what they did to please their buyers. if mythic would start making a brand new mmorpg now, im 100% sure it would start out far more advanced than daoc was, cause they can see how all the older ones went, and what people wanted and liked. but yes i still like wow more, cause its a great game and a great atmosphere in the game. and it will 100% take alot of players from daoc when it is released in EU.

it's a beta - same goes for anything, in catacombs beta someone posted a very sensible well throught out post about bainshee delves being too high and it was hotfixed 2 hours later (as the designer took note, agreed and fixed it)

DAOC has always r0xed, w0w is just a new game that also r0x xd

With only 4/5 classes and 4 races in each realm, you end up with much more spells and options with wich to have lots of fun with, plus the side skills like potion making or engineering etc you can have bonus effects like buffs and stuff, heals. It's all good + crafting is fun! kinda xd

Yeah, when you do the quests for the first time. But what about the second, or the third...

And the worst thing about WoW that not many have even thought about is not in the game itself, but the fact that too many whiners from other games (like DAoC) will be there to ruin it.

Btw, WoW is good if you like Quake with teletubby gfx. Blizzard must've given money to all the ppl saying the gfx is good in WoW, cause I think it totally sux, starting with the repetitive water, low resolution textures, low polygon models. Let's go on with the engine. A friend of mine played hunter and I saw him running, stopping a millisec to shoot some special arrow, then running on.....okay, interesting technique (right spelling?) to shoot. Everything got some cooldown so basically you're getting mad looking at your quickbar and from what I've seen there's no way of group healing effectively against enemy AE spells (like blizzard). Then to the high utility. Sure it seems nice, but look at the druid. You look for one cause you need healing, just to find out he gave his talent points on fighting. You look for an offense mage and he gave all into arcana. This problem exists in DAoC to some point, but mostly classes got a pretty well defined role. You might call it boring, but at least it makes grouping easier and be sure that after some time, there will be a fotm spec for every class and people will have to follow that to be taken in groups. Maybe I'm just pessimistic or too much DAoC focused, but was the same in Ultima Online. You pick a few very good spells as mage and the rest is just useless junk.

I heared the argument that it's a Blizzard game and they always do good games. Peeps, don't forget that Bill Roper and crew left Blizzard, taking away a lot of potential.

I'm gonna try out EU beta when it comes, but I'm not gonna sign up an acc, unless all my friends and my bro really wanna play it and I don't think that'll happen.
