Well, although the abreviation is WoW, i believe WOW is perhaps a better phrase to use.
Ive just played the last 10 hours straight, and although I havent got into any PvP yet, I can EASILY see this game stealing a huge market share from just about everybody.

The quest system is divine Millions of quests, nice rewards, damn nice xp, good storylines, its awesome.

Seamless zones, The only loading point is at the start of the game, once your in, you can run anywhere without loading or even pausing.
Lag is next to none, it runs perfectly on my system(not a good one).

Charachters are awesome fun, effects look cool etc.
One of the coolest things i saw was in the zones as well as having "Beasts" you can kill for xp, they also have "Critters" like dear, rabbits, fish etc which generaly run around, having fun etc.

Control system is intuative and nice, and easily changable.
Charachter creationg is interesting, theres certainly lots of variety, my two concerns about this were, no option to be a tall or short member of your race, and no option to be fat/thin/old/young.

The way they've done the quests is very clever (sorry I know im comming back to it again ;)) Basicly you have your traditional starting quests, but then there are followup quests to these that lead you out into the big wide world. And from one town, to an island chain to another town to a city etc, and before you know it your miles from home and levels higher.
Because its so much faster to do quests for xp rather than just kill mobs, you dont notice the leveling grind so much.

One problem, although this is probably due to the fact that they're cramming loads of people onto the servers, is that everywhere you go, theres probably someone within 20 secs run. At some of the more visited locations (ie a castle where a quest occurs) cause problems as some quests are like, slay 10 of these people and 8 of these, and due to the overcrouding, you spend 30 mins waiting around to eventually get the kills.

One cunning thing they have done, is that for items/quest credit, the person who first hits the mob, gets the credit, leechers or people who just hit it for fun, get nothing. However this can be annoying as a caster as you target something, start casting, and by the time your spell casts, a tanks run over and hit it. I havent quite worked out if XP works in the same way.

Feel free to ask questions and i'll try to answer them as best I can :D

The tradeskills are very fun, lots of people don't skin the animals they kill, so i usally skin them hehe.

Make nice cash selling the skins aswell, fishing is fun, one of the best things so far was when i fell off the boat when it left rachet, there was a nice weapon chest under the water :).

Make sure you don't fall off the lift at Thunder Bluff :/

Just team up with the same people who need the quest and it takes you far less time to wait and kill the mobs alone. But I guess there are loads of I rather work alone people playing...

Ok, i know lots of mobs drop stuff that I cant wear, and isnt for a quest, is there a merchant I can sell it too or is it all just crafting stuff?

You can sell loot to any of the merchants in town. When the merchant's tab is open, move the mouse over your inventory item to see how much it's worth. Right-click to sell!

There's a mailing system too, so you can transfer loot to alts. The larger towns have a mailbox, for sending/recieving money/letters/loot. The problem is, you can only send one item per letter, and each letter costs 30c :x

Awesome, thanks, I didnt realise that :D

How does spell stuff work, because in my charachter sheet I have things like staff skill, and some skill points to spend. But then at my trainer I have spells to buy?!
Someone was saying on broad chat about Tallents at lvl 10, what are these?
I am le confused!

My druid has a talent menu (accessed by "N" at lv10), but it's blank... :p

So far as I can tell, you have three spec lines. And you can fully spec in each line, all it costs is money. The trainer shows a list of 15+ spells in each spec, but there're only ~4 different types, with each level of spell displayed. The only thing holding you back from learning new spells are your level, and your purse. In your character menu, the skills section shows each skill on a bar, e.g. 24/30. The more you use that skill, the more it gains until it hits the cap (30). The cap raises automatically when you level up(35 etc).

With crafting skill, you start with 0/75... and to raise the cap to 150, you need to 'buy' the next level of crafting, with costs skill points.

Skill points which you earn along the way, are related to crafting, and learning additional abilities for your character(i.e. Swords, two-handed... etc). I'd recommend learning Skinning and Leatherwork asap(if a leather wearing class). You can start making armour kits, which add +8AF to each armour piece. And you can skin all of those corpses lying around, which no one else does :D

European World of Warcraft Closed Beta Test Starting Later This Month! - Ryann, 03/09/2004
We are aware that many of you, like us, are eager for the European beta test to begin. We understand and appreciate your interest in World of Warcraft and wanted to update you on exactly where the European beta test currently stands. The European sign-ups were a huge success, thanks to you, and were much bigger than we anticipated. Hence, the process of selecting testers has taken longer than expected, but the good news is that the process is now complete.

Over the past few weeks, our growing European teams have been striving to prepare the technical platform to support the beta test, and we are now in the final stages of implementing the required technology. It is our intention to post an announcement very soon that indicates the specific date in September when the European World of Warcraft closed beta test will start. Under the current schedule, the first wave of selected testers will be notified by e-mail a couple of days before the beta launch. Thank you for your patience, and we hope to have you playing World of Warcraft as soon as possible!

anyone got an invite for this? :p

I don't really want to get into beta, as i don't want to spoil all the fun for when its released.

One of the best parts of mmorpg's, is being a newbie.

I'm glad I'm not in the stress test (didn't sign up for it even) cause when I see the load of wankers on that stress test forum... oefffff... I don't get it why Blizzard doesn't use active Moderators who just ban em.

Well I had an adventure last night. I caught a boat from my Hoard lands and ended up in what I assume is the bottom of the really high level Alliance areas, so I headed north, through forests, dieing countless times, until I got to the forest, Elwynn Forest, the noobie zone! :D
It was good fun emoting all the noobies (lvl1-4ish) and looking around. Then one decided to attack me! It was fun with PvP and their system is good, the only thing I dont like is, players dont turn red, name wise, until they attack you (if they arnt red or yellow, then you cant attack them. This means you cant just run up and kill someone, you have to wait for them to attack you first. Although someone said something about killing an NPC enabling you to go around killing everybody.
The main problem was getting back, i didnt want to repeat the (die, revive corpse, run 100m, repeat) method I got there by, and didnt have a clue how to get back. The sensible thing to do would have been to get a hearth return stone, but me being stupid, i didnt bring one :(
So i had to run around rying to find the airship terminal!
It was fun over all though :D
