Nope, England. Used a US proxy to sign up. Hopefully there are no IP scans to actually access the servers, no idea how to tweak that :p

Couple of links to get started: thottbott, newbie guide.

Character creation has alot of options, you won't see daoc "clones" running about :D

Haven't played much yet, the starting areas are zerged by newbies and kill-stealers. It doesn't have the "instant addiction" factor that daoc had... but time will tell :p

/edit ok sorted it.
Basicly, theres a link on the fileplanet FAQ which takes you to the account creation page, assuming you have your CD key for this, you can sign up, and then get the files off Blizzard without needing to use fileplanet at all :D

ok, for IE: Tools, Internet options, connections, lan settings.
You should see a proxy server bit at the bottom, put the IP or address in the address and make sure the ports, right etc, then click ok, that should enable you to access the fileplanets pages, however there are only spots left for people how have paid now :p

Im VERY impressed with it. Rolled a tauren druid and loving it. They get a few neat tricks and at lvl 10 shapeshift into bear form:m00: . The quest system is brilliant, you can pretty much deck yourself out in decent armor just doing em, and as far as I know theres no lvl limit - so you basiclly do each quest at your own pace.
Tradeskill system looks quite good, even saw some dudes trying out fishing which looked a laugh.
Have to roll a few others before the weeks out me thinks.

8/10 from what ive seen so far

This game is GREAT!! :D
Got to lvl 8 with my rogue last night.
The quest system is very nice. At the moment I have 7 open quests :)

The game engine can handle a lot. I was running at 1280*1024 with all setting maxed. 30 people on screen beating the crap out of mobs in the newbie zone without any slowdowns .

Druid is quite easy to level. You can nuke, melee and heal yourself mid-combat!
There're no spell interrupts either(only minor ones), so you can break melee and start casting immediately... or keep on nuking while the mob is beating you.

The graphic's engine is very smooth. I'm playing at 1024x768 on a GF2(yes, ancient Geforce2 32MB :p ) 1.4Ghz, 512MB setup. There's no lag when I walk through towns with 40+ people around me. And it loads new areas without you feeling it, unlike daoc which punishes my hardisk everytime I move.

Your hardisk, fingers, head, arms, legs, cat, car and basically everything that is connected to you deserves to get punished, imo.

Gameplay was weird so I got bored after one hour of playing (US-beta) :p The game has potential and much depends on how good the PvP-system will be.

I was really impressed by the whole game. It felt slick, busy and most importantly it recaptured that sense of awe I had when starting EQ for the first time. The quest system with the coloured icons above peoples heads indicating that they have something for you is really, really good. Quite often I was running around the land just investigating places while also picking up quests left, right and centre. Getting between zones irked me because it wasn't always obvious where the connection points were located but the maps helped somewhat.

I will definitely be playing this upon release :)
