So who here ( besides me ) is lucky enough to have been able to explore the Wonderfull World of WOW :) Plz share you thoughts and comments .

Some of my findings
-World is HUGE from what i have seen the total map is as bigg as all 3daoc realms + frontiers merged together . there are even some tropical islands that arent even listed on the overhead map .
-Fps is very nice . In normal landscape i have about 60 - 100 fps and in bigg city`s like stormwind it doesnt drop below 40. in daoc i have 20% fps less on average . but i cant really compare the two sinds i played wow with only 1 person on server and daoc doesnt like ati `s :)
-The Sandbox server had only 1 character and i wasnt able to visit the other continent this one seems just as large if not bigger .
-It took me 2 hours walking from the undead city to the human city without using speed mod.
-The world looks absolutely STUNNING Blizzard really mastered the art of making a world with low polygon count (compared to some new mmorpg`s who seem to focus more on Naturalism then on gameplay ) but beatiful textures come to life . The atmosphere created by this plus the music will take your breath away more then once .
-No loading whatsoever . Enter cities and dungeons seamless and without any loading i didnt even hear my HDD load up when i enter a new area. When i red about Blizzard trying to have a non loading game i was like bigg deal i dont mind loading for 10 sec , but now its here i think its great and dont wanne go back.
-Underwater swimming is great and i think theres great potential in underwater raids and questing .

-Map isnt finished .. Discovered some islands half done and some not on map . and there are allot of land plots in the middle of the ocean which arent part of the game but ofc this is a 11 dec version and they prolly fixed all this .
-Horde has some nice races but they are all more or less ugly :( Ok i like the Male Tauren and Orc also undeads are nice but compared to Humans and Nightelves a choise is easily made. Ofc the horde should be the more ugly side but this might cause a problem if these sides are suppost to fight eachother in the pvp zone because most ppl might take the side of the alliance.

So overall im more then pleased with what i have seen and cant wait to have a testserver with mobs and other players .

BETA PLZ !!!

Tested on:
2400xp+
9800ati pro
512 ddr
at 266fsb

there is .

What type of PvP will you offer?
We know that the player vs. player (PvP) option is very important to many gamers. Therefore, we plan to incorporate a form of player conflict into the World of Warcraft. However, players who do not wish to be participate in PvP combat will not be required to do so. The PvP system will be incorporated in a consensual way that will be fun for those who wish to take part in this form of combat. Announcements regarding PvP options in the World of Warcraft will be announced in the months ahead.

Somewhere i heard that the pvp area wil be about 10% of the world map .. and tbh thats more then enough seeing how Huge the map is . so next time you say something base it on facts plz.

and you base that on?
nothing about pvp in wow is final yet.

but, indeed this seems so be most likly, but in what way is unsure.
will there be special rvr-zones (a la doac), or can you attack the opposite side whenever you see them in the world?
hardly the last option, since they stated pvp in wow would be 100% concensual, so perhaps they will have specific pvp-servers?
god i sure hope so atleast :)

Edit: get all wow-related material here: http://www.wow-alpha.tk
(will this get me banned? :()

The game is just HUGE!! I ran for 3 hours solid tonight and managed to cross 4 of the 16 zones on one of the islands. The scale and detail is just epic beyond any other game out there. I was undecided about WoW but now I am 100% buying it.

Running mine at 1600x1200 right now, 60fps+ with all the details cranked up. Certain areas look bland and unfinished but then it is only Alpha, once you have seen Ironforge (The Dwarven city built into a mountain) though it will take your breath away with the scale and detail.

Average 40fps at 1600x1200 with max details in vast open plains where you can literally see for miles and 60fps in cities. How the final game runs is yet to be seen but I have great hopes that many systems can run it.

The dwarf city was definitely very nice, nice graphics outside and inside, my only problem was is that it was very...uhh, unpopulated i suppose, cant wait for beta or something else nice :)

Some of the undead lands had some really nice music, the main Undead city(the Underdeep? aka Lordaeron ruins or something) had a very nice central throne room thing - also the ruins of Dalaran, while the majority of it seemed pretty.....uhh, cheesy(like, a big hole in the world and someone put a big purple bubble scab on it....), the ruins surrounding it were pretty nice. Good attention to detail :) . Definitely the dwarf city > Undead anyways, must check out the southern reaches :D

Also, the human and dwarf cities are really really big. Like, huge. Definitely larger than probably the DAoC capital cities, i just hope they get filled up properly with NPCs :p

I kinda seen the whole island now .. but i think the world dungeons arent active on the sandbox . Sometimes you see a portal but you can just go threw it . These portals might be jumppoints for the big dungeons and i heard that they are HUGE . Atm all i seen are some small caves and mines . Biggest is the one in the swamps but also has a portal if you get all the way downso i might be even bigger .

The fort in the middle of the lake on the north part of the island has one of those portals. Even the ruins dungeons are vast, makes you wonder how big the major dungoens are.

chod, hit tilde( ~) type speed 60 and VROOM :)

Went from the login spot to human city in decent time despite not knowing the way :p . Its hard though, a few zones arent done (I was walking along and came upon 'the edge of the world' near one zone, almost went careening right off :p

Awww this is such a torture to read all the nice things... I just simply can't wait.. :(

And by the way, read this please.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In order to accelerate the testing process, we recently allowed a small group of external testers to play the game. During this process, a collection of files was leaked to the Internet. While these files contain alpha content from the game, they are not fully playable and therefore do not convey the experience that World of Warcraft will provide when it is released.

We are currently investigating this matter and will take serious action against those involved.

As always, we appreciate the interest and enthusiasm that players around the world have for World of Warcraft, and we look forward to delivering a massively multiplayer game unlike any you have ever experienced. Until then, we ask that you refrain from sharing any content that doesn't come directly from Blizzard Entertainment.
