Argies won't get anywhere with UN. It has been in British hands since 1833. We are way past squatters rights here! Also, the fact that Britain has many times offered to take the dispute to the International Courts of Justice in the Hague has been repeatedly turned down by Argentina. Basically they know they will loose. If you hold land for more than 100 years it is generally considered yours.
My understanding is, that this is why the Chinese only leased us Hong Kong for 99 years. I was there during the handover and it was huge topic of discussion at the time. lots of debates on the radio, mostly locals upset that the British would not extend the lease or even keep the Island which we had a claim on as it was taken by force much earlier.
