What an awful performance and awful tactics imo. I think its obvious the players dont like playing this way.

Totally agree. Capello should now realise he's not a fucking wonderboy and start listening to constructive criticism from outside of his arse-kissing camp. His backroom staff need to stop looking at him through rose-tinted glasses and say "Hey Boss, this isn't working" and suggest alternatives. Doggededly sticking to 4-4-2 wasn't the way there.

The players need to step up too though tbh. Rooney had nothing to work with, Lennon seems to have been told not to run at people which is what he's good at. Everytime an England player is close, the ball goes square rather than having a pop, as if they're dropping the hot potato.

Confidence is indeed low.

UK media is putting too much pressure on the players imo, it was doomed even before it started.

Sod that - most of the team play at the top level week after week. They should deal with it.

Gutless clueless overpaid wankers.

No idea from the players, no idea from the manager. It's no point bringing on Wright-Phillips for Lennon when it was the formation that needed changing.

And what is up with Rooney, he can't even trap a ball and do a simple pass anymore. Had a go at the fans at the end by the sounds of it, tbh he deserved to booed on that performance.

It looks like the players don't believe in it. They look like a team that don't want to play. There was a few times tonight when someone could have had a shot but they chose not to, thats a bad sign.

Barry and James played well. Heskey and Gerrard put shifts in. Lampard and Rooney were absolute pish, as were most of the rest. That backpass from Terry summed up the overall performance.

Change of system called for? Perhaps drop some big names and put some players in who will at least play with some pride?

Lampard stood watching everytime Algeria pressured our passes, he was constantly out of position, Barry fucked up a ton of easy passes and dwelled on the ball far too long which forced alot of sideways/backward passes. Rooney was crap but then what was he given to work with? Gerrard and Lampard taking long range shots instead of feeding the strikers, Heskey trying to find Rooney instead of taking a clear shot.

I could go on and on and fucking on.

The only player worth his salt today was Ashley fucking Cole. He tried and tried, worked hard when he had the ball and when he didn't but more than that he looked fucking disgusted at some of the play going on infront of him. The rest of them were bleeding useless.

I thought that most of the International football camps had a media blackout in relation to newspapers and what not? Surely that can't be an excuse...

Noticed that aswell. I found Barry awefull, but then again I hardly know the guy. All the danger whas comming from Rooney or (in part) Gerrard. And thats saying a lot. England has no fking usefull strickers at all?
I could suggest a couple of first division players from any league in Europe that would do 10x better.

Im not a huge fan of cole but he was the only one who gave 100% , carragher was decent aswell although he isnt as quick as he used to be.

Barry was like a tortoise everytime he tried to run , he doesnt look fit at all. He needs to play gerrard where he plays for liverpool im not bothered who he has to move around to do that , he wasnt great but he was by far our best midfielder although that isnt saying alot.

Defoe needs to play ahead of heskey , atleast he can actually control a ball when it comes to him and doesnt fall over after his 1st touch.

Someone on our forum wrote , Are you scotland in disguise? no we arent , atleast the scots actually show some passion.

If Barry hadn't been on the pitch we'd have lost 3-0 or 4-0, he saved our asses a bunch of times.

Shocking performance in both halves of the game. That black bird was a fucking omen :(

Joe Cole must be training really badly. I couldnt believe it when he brought SWP on for lennon.

We are boned now :( The next game will be like a knock out with no extra time.

i thought barry was good defensivly but his passing was well off key, tho to be fair to him this is his first game in ages after injury

the rest of the team have no such excuse, the defence seemed to ahve absolutley no confidence in the goal keeper and with chopping and changing that likey to carry on. playing 2 strong centre back that are good in the air that both have no pace and the turning circle of and aircraft carrier isn't ideal,

Gerrard on the left agian? SERIOUSLY????

every forum i read or FB and even the pundits all want more or less the same team (well except keeper) back 4 choose themselfs really then lennon lampard barry j.cole gerrard rooney

why hasnt it happened? why hasnt it even been tried in a friendly?

and wtf is heskey still doing starting? sure the comentators jsut had a button that they press when he gets it, "heskey, now algeria have the ball"

rooney and lampard mayaswell of not got on the plane atall they've not turned up to either game

ashley cole was solid, lennon imo had a fairly good game (in comparison) was suprised to see him come off

all in all, don't make anyplans to host BBQ's for the last 16

Meh, tommorow the Netherlands will play yet again with van der Vaart and without any good flanking strikers (sp? not sure how you call them). Could be a slow and difficult game as with the Danes. Coaches never learn.

Really? :S Heskey didn't have his best game but his workrate, ability to win the ball and close down defenders gave us our best chances. If Defoe takes anybodies place it should be Rooney's, but I can't say I was impressed with Defoe or Crouch - they showed why they're substitutes and not starters.

Rooney showed the Crocky scally that's still in him and he's spat his dummy out cos he's not playing in the goal factory called Man U.

Let's get this in perspective here though, look at France, Spain and Germany FFS!

Barry and Heskey were our best players - mainly cause they got to Algerian crosses ahead of the Algerians. Rooney has looked a shadow of himself pre-injury, I'm disappointed Capello took Heskey off instead of Rooney - his touch at times was attrocious (although Heskeys skills when he tried the stepovers were so dreadful I thought he'd tried to copy how I try and play the game).

Everyone else didn't seem to look like they gave a shit - there was a moment when two Algerians casually passed the ball to each other about 3 or 4 times without anyone deciding to close them down.

The fact we're not out of the tournament already is a miracle, if we make it out the group it'll be thoroughly undeserved but I imagine the Sun will hail it as proof we're going to win the thing - I've seen better football in the Zamaretto League Division One Midlands

Tbh they are all overpaid useless tarts, especially for England. Change of formation needed and Joe Cole on.

We'll win next game and go through, as said before, we always do it the hard way.

your first sentance sums it up imo, they players are still picking up a nice wage while playing crap, no need to put any effort in, they'll still get picked time and time again.

Well if the English players don't perform the next match, I suggest the queen starts shouting; "Off with their heads."

I was probably a bit harsh on him tbh but everytime he seemed to get the ball he gave it away but fair enough he was no worse than any of the rest of them.

Gerrards comments are funny though "Of course, you have to give them credit. This is their World Cup final and they've managed to get a draw off us"

He should really get over himself , that attitude is probably one of the reasons we played so poorly.

tbh, when heskey wasnt falling over himself or the ball, or passing to algeria then i guess he was as good as all the other players.

He is a dick with a bad attitude, like most footballers. Don't expect any class from them and you won't be disappointed.

Heskey was utterly useless as usual, shame the squad were having a game of "lets all be as useless as Heskey"

A fucking disgrace, every last one of them.

we seem to have ran out of idea's before the end of the first half imo, they looked tired and lost out there.

Capello needs to replace most of them for the last game, put players on that wants to play (aka joe cole)

Bin Heskey, stick him on a rowing boat and sink it.

J Cole on the left, Gerrard behind Rooney up front.

Though tbh with the way that shower of shit played tonight, nothing will work.

Except for Ashley Cole for the first time in history. He was the only one I saw willing to fight for the shirt today, he had desire from minute 1 to minute 93.
