I find it very unsettling that an entire nation can put so much emotion and pride into a game of football...it just isnt right..that so much can hang on so few.

I dunno, personally i find it kinda beautiful. The only sucky bit about it was what the Brazilians had to pay to get that world cup. The government pretty much put everything else on ice financially to get the money for this.

I'm not, they seem quite high to me. Even on some crazy bets the odds don't usually go any higher than 500/1 or so...or well, not on skybet anyway.

I don't bet so I wouldn't know. I don't suppose the odds given by bookies for edge cases like these have anything to do with real statistics anyway.

I wonder what their reaction is, who they blame etc.

Some of the players were exceptionally bad last night (Marcelo, Luiz) and others were shit for every single game (Fred, Hulk, either rightback, Paulinho) and everyone else being pretty poor except Neymar and Silva.

Scolari's decisions were baffling, taking certain players in the squad and leaving behind the likes of Coutinho, Marquinos, Luis Felipe, Miranda, Lucas, Firmino and so on. Playing certain every game regardless of their ability or form.

Also why aren't Brazil producing as many high calibre players as before? Surely something needs addressing in their development of players, they seem to have nothing good but CBs, DMs and AMs.

I dont think Silva was particularly good either, he was however a defender and controlled the defence and made sure Luiz did not go mad. When Luiz did go mad yesterday Dante had no chance, Luiz should have been the leader of that defense but is lack of self control cost him.
