Wizzy Question

In your opinion which is the best spec wizzy, I currently have a lev 17 fire wizz who is great fun (I like blowing things up), and I know that Ice is good for PvE. Dont know a lot about earth just that its hard to find grps / level.

Any tips / suggestions / views appreciated.

Best spec would be to either go full fire or full ice, dont try to be a clever dick and have some in each as your damage output will be a bit on the poo side

If you like blowing things up go fire.. also if you have time Turel needs a few dolls blown up also

It needs some love.. I have a level 33 earth Wiz and find it very hard to get a group

For me
Fire = great for solo play
Ice = great group play

others might have diff views though..

Fire is uber but ur get bored fast. Ice is pretty fun but i think earth is the way forward. Albion hasa severe lack of earth wizards and GTAe owns in keep defence and keep takes....the best way to stop pbae

Have to disagree with this.. GTAe would be great if it did a little more damage.. not to much more but just a little. Also reason that there are so many Fire/Ice wiz about is down to the fact that every group takes them over a Earth wiz.

Inviting a earth wiz into your group to nuke is like having a smite cleric as your prime healer.. not to clever now

There is no best spec for any class mine's going 50 ice 20 earth though mainly because i have another ice wiz in guild i can tag along with in rvr but be warned ice is mainly group dependant and fire is great for nuking(except when the feking broken boad is up )

Would advise ice wiz, though not as immediately destructive, at later levels the pbaoe becomes very powerful, and albs are now commonly using the pbaoe xp groups to xp even quicker than before!

Depends on how youlike to play...

My first char is a full earth wiz and I love her.

She's been great fun to play and I've rarely had a problem getting a group.

In pve she solo's fine and in rvr she holds her own...

In keep take/defence she's hilarious and I get a real kick every time imagining the muttering and swearing that must be going on behind the scenes from the other side of the door while I'm getting... dozens of .... You just hit XXX messages ... all at once .. (who cares that I can't kill 30 people in one shot with the Gatae... I know for sure I'm annoying the hell out of lots of them and making life difficult)

Your spec depends on how you like to play more than anything.... If you are a loner and prefer to solo make yourself a fire wiz

If you are a groupie (or too lazy to learn to play a real char ;P) go ice for pbae...

If you want to have the best of both worlds then earth is the way to go...

I think all the characters and classes can be good and fun.. its about picking the right char for you and learning to play it to the best of its abilities and yours.

Fire is very easy to solo and group friendly...pretty nice in RvR.
Ice is solid for lvling with a grp that understand pbaoe lvling, unfortunately not many groups do.
Earth...messed up at the moment..gtaoe hits for too little and with no spec dd eats mana .

just go 50 on one spec, and you will die fast in RvR, no way around it.

When I was ice spec I often gave up trying to convince my groups to let me pbaoe. It seems things have changed since then, so for PvE I would definitely go ice, though back in't day, fire was the better.

they also have some other nice spells like AOE root, AOE dd/snare, and a DOT that stacks with others (well wth a sorcerer baseline, not sure it it will with the spec line spells).

if you've ever gone up against mids either attacking or defending a keep you will soon see what GTAE spells are like. If you have a CS up they target the center of the courtlard stopping people from rezzing and killing anyone rezzed with a the basic rezz spell. One on there own is just annoying as its 6sec recast, but get 3-4 casting and those door hitter will soon move back.

They are hard to level but you could just go Fire and then respec at L41.

Another note, we also need a few more Matter cabbies, dots and disease really spoil a healers day (whith loads of buffs on it can be hard to find out who need what cured)

Haha good one! If a target has spellcrafted items then u will prolly hit for 250-300 per nuke. We are talking about total destructive power here! Ofc if you run solo,unbuffed is like slowly digging your own grave since wizards dont even have speed.
Solo wizard = breakfast for stealthers.. The only way for a fire wiz to kill someone solo is MoC,and its not that efficient.

I have been in many solo fights with stealthers,hitting MoC and nuking them mercyless,but they keep kitting,making at least 2 nukes delay... And count in that 2of10 nukes in general will be totally resisted versus any target.

You cast a major conflagration spell.
XXXXX resists the effect.

You will be nuking balanced mid groups with shamans last heat resist buff for 235 (-260) like MM,you will keep nuking Hibernian balanced groups like Eclipse for a bit more.

Thats for all that still believe that fire wizards are still UBER.

Well any caster in alb has shit resists vs boad ra which is broken.

My theurg can nuke mids 300-500 non crit but hibs heh average is 250-300 before boad is up and when that is i may aswell staff them.

Hmm, lots to think about, thanx for all the advice and different opinions. Think I have pretty much decided to stick with fire to level 40, then decide if I want to respec to earth. Annoying the hibs/mids sounds like great fun. Think i'll stay away from ice, as im a coward, and prefer to take things down from range.
