Corsair blow up some other power supply to prove you should buy one from Corsair?

There are plenty of reasons not to buy a budget PSU, but this stupid video isn't one of them.

still, there is a point about not going budget on certain critical parts. I mean, you don't have to get a gold plated PSU, but you also don't have to scrape the bottom of the barrel tbh.

Yes, but will it blend?

On another point: how were they drawing the power? Evenly accross all lines? Weighted for normal individual usage? It's easy to engineer a situation where a PSU can blow up under apparent "normal" load when in facts its totally abnormal.

last time i had cheapo psu was when 300 slot based cellys were al the rage. mine kept crashing till i read somewhere it was the psu from the case i had. when i opened it up the psu had some white thing alover kinda like dried glue it was over everything and holding the fan in place.

case was an inwin q500 which was supposed to be an uber case for that time

ahhh the celery 300a's. Marvellous times. Intel shot themselves in the foot with that one and have never been the same since. I think in those days I was probably far too interested in getting an extra 20mhz out of my (366 iirc) celeron too rather than stability from my celeron and TNT2 graphics :)

come to think of it all those bsod peeps were complaining about were prolly mostly from celly 300 owners. swap i had like 8 fans stuck on to the side panel. it prolly made more noise than my x360.

and i am reminded of of somat else as well. so much nicer having oc.uk and kustompcs etc for ordering stuff we never had places to buy stuff back then an any thing imported would be slapped by the custom twats

Indeed, nearly all my kit from then was from Insight UK.
