when they could play eq? i just... cant comprehend. i actually feel sorry for people that think daoc is good. i really do, i have real sympathy for you. imagine.. getting home from work and playing daoc, it pains me.

I cant understand how so many people like to bash crappy AI over and over to gain levels when theres no endgame tbh... i feel really sorry for them irl.

but.. RVR in daoc might aswell just be AI, i mean its not asiff theres any tactic or skill involved atall, its literally just.... zerg. shit.

eq is a teamwork game, absolute teamwork. if matters, alot if u die, and to take on the more uber mobs, u need absolute trust and teamwork throughout the group your in. also, just the sheer scale, i havnt been bored on eq yet, and i've been playing over a year all together. will it last 3 years like uo did? dunno, but i honestly cant see bordem around the corner. unlike daoc, when the second u hit 50, and realise your no more powerful than anyone else in the game and think.... omg what a shit game.

Interesting coment for someone who is driven by the desire for a game built on trust and teamwork.
EQ lacks motivation, for what reason do you seek wealth and treasure of forgotten civilisations? To enable you to seek more of the same?
There is something a little more driving about the disire to take the said artifacts and wrap them around the skulls of cursed invaders.
The EQ combat system was somewhat lacking last time I had a look.
It's not a bad game, sometimes I think it would be fun to play it again, explore untroden land and.....go fishing :p , but the fact that it takes so bloody long to get anywhere and if you die you have to buy a new fishing rod (and of course the viciously expensive equipment you were wearing at the time) deters me a lot.

so you can become more and more powerful, kill harder and harder mobs (we're talking proper cool mobs), go on huuuge raids with hundreds of other people killing some increadibly tough mobs.. become richer and more powerful? daoc takes... what, a month max to hit 50 and get bored? eq is more like a year or so to get to 65, maybe more depending how u wanna play. i mean in eq, if ur PLd ok u can hit 65 prolly in about 4 months, but.... no ones gonna PL u to 65.

daoc is an aweful game in the grand scheme of things. its so bad.. i played UO for 3 years, eq now for 1.5 years, i even played dungeon keeper longer than i played daoc. only played it for aboput 5 months before getting bored.

whats the point in getting to high lvl in daoc? so u can join the other 300,000 lvl 50's in the bordem of emain, ganking stuff. i just cant beleive people are still playing daoc tbh, but i suppose some people for SOME reason are still buying daoc. poor gits.

eq has been going for something crazy like 6 years, and still has the biggest player population of ANY online game. always has. always will.

ok just got the actual number of players at last count on eq. 490,000 subscribers. trying to find daoc now, if anyone gets it let me know. think i've slightly proven my point here.

said to an eq m8 who used to also play daoc about this thread, his response was: "omg if only the daoc noobs could see what im doing now, theres no tactics in daoc, just run in and hope for the best. there are so many tactics being used by my group at once, fearing, snaring, rooting, charming, mezzing, twitching."

if any of u actually did decide to play eq until after lvl 50, u'd know what i mean, but no one will (thank god, dont want daoc noobs on eq).

and just got this msg from my eq m8 too, which i think is a valid point: "whats the point of leveling is ye cant PvP.... so stupid!!!

thats like saying whits the point of leveling, why not just play UT2003 "

The origin of the word "awful" is in fact simply awe + ful
"Awe" being a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder.
The meaning of the word has changed over time to focus more on a negative feeling evoked by something unpleasant.

Don't correct people's spelling since you obviously understood what he meant and just wanted to look superior.

EQ is alot better the daoc, daoc only has rvr and sucks in comparison.

Maybe its becuase EQ sucks, dunno. It has a end mob that is designed to be un killable ffs, whats the point. No RvR, level 1's running about with worm slayers (pretty good eq sword), crappy loading screens between each crapply designed zone, crap crafting system, crap battle system. Just um... Crap really
