Why is sticking pet on aggresive mode against COC

Assholes afk killing screw up xp for countless lowbies.
Your pet WILL add on anything in range, this is against the CoC aswell as annoying for the people trying to xp

if it hits a mob pulled by some1 else its against the Coc.. otherwise it aint.

and why are it assholes? its just a game feature

no animists dont cast when they get out of target range errors but they will get messages saying out of range.

It's the server that does range checks, so GOA will be able to see you trying to cast.

Well, for starters there's the fact that your pets will be interfering with other people's pulls - I've seen several asshole BDs in Spindelhalla leaving their pets roaming around screwing up the whole scav room for everyone else. AFK XPing is very much against the COC, plus it's selfish and ignorant.

yes and u WAS at the computer when u pressed the "aggro" button right?

u aint pushing any other buttons after that if u go afk. and sooner or later u go LD like u should. having a macro program or a key jammed to ur keyboard to prevent u from going LD gets u banned.

i suppose i can understand the monkeys who buff pets stick on aggressive afk 4the win. Personally if you want a way how to deal with that just debuff their mobs if they arnt at the keyboard to notice then the next pull might be more than they can handle.

It's very simple. If your character is doing something in game that would normally need you to push a button or type in a command then you must be there to push that button or type that command.

Scenario 1: AFK Theurgist sits in group with pbt running. Does nothing else. Is sat at the back and will eventually go linkdead when the game detects he's been inactive for long enough. - No infringement. He was present to push the pbt button and isn't taking any other actions while afk.

Scenario 2: Cabalist sets pets to aggro and goes afk. Does nothing else and will eventually go linkdead when game detects he has been inactive for long enough. - No infringement as long as pet does not attack mobs already pulled by another player.

Scenario 3: Animist sets up shroom field, jams down shroom button and goes afk. - Infringement. As he is not there to press the shroom button he is in breach of the CoC.

Scenario 4: Bonedancer sets pets to aggro, and sets a macro to cast a buff spell every few seconds to avoid going linkdead. - Infringement. As he is not there to press the buff button he is in breach of the CoC.

In situations 3 and 4 though one is a 'hardware hack' by jamming down a button or placing a weight on the keyboard, and one is abuse of a third party program, both are punishable. We will tend to be harder on the third party program user but that doesn't preclude us taking harsher action against the person in scenario 3 if the situation warrants it.

In any case where you suspect that someone is doing something wrong, we urge you to report it even if you don't have evidence. We'll investigate and if there is any evidence of wrongdoing then we'll act. In many cases it's very hard or impossible for a player without access to the tools that a GM has to gather meaningful evidence. If there's nothing wrong, then no-one gets punished and no reputations are smeared from a unsupported accusation.

The friday news disagreed with statement 2 - or rather it made it a bit more simple saying that number 2 was illegal... i.e. it's fine as long as noone else is around but since yer afk you can't tell if anyone else is around and you'll probably cause problems and get into trouble, so don't bother doing it in the first place.

was prolly planning to play on Mythic being a US company...becuase in america you can sue people becuase they didn't protect you from yourself.

Luckily in Europe the laws are better and you generally can't sue people becuase u were to stupid to realise putting your cat in the microwave is a bad idea....for example
