Why do YOU play DAoC?

Thought of this question today when we was suppose to be reading The Inspector Calls

Personally, I play it because I don't have enough money to go out every weekend and get hammered, buy expensive things. If I was extremely wealthy then you would not catch me on daoc at all.

So, tell me, why do YOU play daoc?

I think you should add leave daoc and come back like 3-4 more times

well, I'am playing this game cause I'am addicted, and I like the people around ingame. what can I say, it's the best game ever made imo

Because despite all its faults (and there are very very many) there is still nothing else on the mmorpg that comes close in terms of scope/end game for those interested in playing in a form of cooperation with in a small group (in my case a duo with rl partner)

While WoW has a considerable scope and actually alot going for it I've found no real fun in making 'alts' in WoW hence the end game is (imo) fairly limited. EQ2 just wasn't friendly for duo play (and also suffers from lack of an end game). CoH/CoV are unfortunately more fun at the character generation stage than they are once you are actually in the game. Guild Wars isn't really small group friendly, though I would imagine if you have a decent guild it is pretty cool.

I had high hopes of DDO but reports from the beta so far suggest it won't live up to my hopes. Been considering Lineage II may yet give that one a go as I was ultimately disappointed in the content of Darkness Rising which for me did nothing to prolong the life of the game, unlike Catacombs and ToA.

The other options for small group play (such as NWN) really don't support the kind of cooperative play we like, which I guess was first born in Diablo 2.

i play becuse cus there are no "fun" online game then DAoC atm, well erhm Pvp wise atleast. the improvment of DAoC pve (solo part) is also why i came back
wow is joke when it comes to the pvp part..

so i guess i play daoc until WAR comes.
oh yeah + am addict of online games ( unemployment suck when dont have anything to do)

think ive tryed every mmorpg out there, and as Javai said, nothing even comes close to being as well made as daoc is. everythis you want in a game is there.

and yeh im prolly abit addicted aswell
