why buy HL2 off steam?

Theres no problem at all making backups. The old way was just to burn a copy of the steam directory, but now they have added a utility within steam to help you. Just right click the game and select backup. It will even split the files into CD or DVD sized chunks for you.

If you buy half-lfe 2 off steam you avoid the fresh air and natural sunlight which is good for me being an "IT Support Techy" means I can stay true to my pastey face calling....lol...
No really, HL2 through steam does have the added adventage even if you go for the bronze pack of not needing to insert the damn CD every time you want to play.
