tbh, i have to jog every other day. I wake up thinking to myself, zomg jogging again? but what actually gets me out of bed, getting dressed etc is the benefit of what i'm doing. I'll come out alot better if i jog, i cba been the cock at the back of the squad holding everybody up. (private pile for those who've seen Full Metal Jacket) Also music motivates me alot
Full respect for you going into the army and wish you best of luck with telling folks mate.
I spent 5 years in cadets and sadly just one year in main army before quitting.
Was in Duke of Wellingtons and my mum was so proud, but in a way I was too young and could'nt take the dicapline.
Hope you succeed old pal and your mum takes it, if it's any consulation you will never feel fitter in your life once you camp at strensel in York or Leek, I used to to think it was shite but now I got older I realise it was what I shoulda done and stayed, and if you driving you are kinda set for life in a free way with hgv and adr, try got cohsh too :)
sorry for misspellings btw, feel a bit emotional that my mum will never see me in uniform with an SA80 ever again as it was years ago :)

Thanks so much bud, best of luck to you aswell.

We've had a chat and tbh she has to live with it. My dads been a class 1 (HGV/ADR) driver for hummm, 12 years or something, i've been on the road with him like 2-3 weeks at a time, been spain and all sorts of places. So i thought yep this is definatly for me, and tbh i cba spending 2-7grand on all my licenses when i can go in the army.

Ye i'll take some shit, the officers will pwn me so bad but i'll just stand there and take the aggro off them, that's what they want to do is get rid of the weak and build up the strong. Who wants a cocky little prick who doesn't do as he's told. EG - in the middle of a situation, some chav (no offence haggus lol) get's told to do something, he doesn't it could cost somebody there life.

Ye i could get out of the army within 4+ years, have my Class 1 all my other licenses, and my ADR Instructor, if you get your standard ADR you have to renuw it every 5 years and yes, pay the same 3k which you would on civi street. every 5years.

the army pwns, i was thinking of joining but id be in for 5 years i think, and hten id have to go to uni etc, and tbh im more concerned with spending my time training, uni, and then hopefully compeating in 2 years time amateur and see where i go from there. got a couple of mates joining the army, one wants to be a helicopter pilot or summit, which he will probably go for (he gotta sign up, go to uni, then go to the army or something) and another who doesnt really know what he wants to do in life, doesnt want the same old same old and decided army might be the right place for him.

Your shit won't come from officers ever mate unless you are on parade, main shit comes from your sergents that are in charge of your duty and in barrocks, I think you'll find your adr and hgv will only be useful as a tanker driver or a curtain sider carrying some form of nasty chemical or flammable stubstance.
I made staff sergent in cadets ages from 13-17 and had quite a role of authurtiy, joined main Dukes as private and guess I could'nt take the demotion and was too young to accept that, wish I had of done tho.
:)
I wish you all the best of luck bud, and your mum will come round she is probably just worried at the moment, but she will be proud mate trust me :)

"i thought i was learning to live, i was really learning to die"

why bother is a very good question:) although, turning to drugs is not the cure, i know full well :p

end of the day, all life is, is a to b. ^^

do all u want, work hard get that perfect job what ever u want, but if u end up not enjoying life and just working all the time, you will find ure self looking back and wondering where your life went.

although seemingly you are 50 and close to the threshold of existance, watching sheep idoly waste by, and be plebs, arguably u probarly were the same at there age. Growing old, one must turn, to more apropriate indulgements.

life does sux, and no one can deny it, just everyone lives in ignorance and that gets them by, or find trivial lusts to keep there mind occupied, poor fools. =)

Life is what you make of it.

Those who commit suicide have nothing more to make out of life.

Surely you have more to make out of life - if only to make a video about how much you pwn thid? ;)

I can almost guarantee you maybe .0001% of the people that commit suicide think they they have nothing more to make out of life...The rest do for various reason like job, money, heartbreak, drug, etc...

Was a funny fact meight ! :<

Thats why!

Well i went for my attestation today, it went all good. Stood infront of a big pic of the queen held the bible and read off a sheet of paper. I'm now 'subject to military law' so for example, if i went out pissed up got into a fight i'd get punished by the army, pwned.

Once i got in the careers office is was 'buzzing' thinking i can't wait to get in.

If i stood infront of a pic of the queen, i would take a pen and give her a tash :(
