Well not hard for Loch to make a large scale raid. All she do is /yell im a irl girl. And every albs runs after here. Kinda same with Yussef only they realise he aint a girl once they catch up with him

Anyone who has the leadership skills to keep everyone together and can get people to listen is someone worth giving your attention to.
Oh and can I make a suggestion? Insist on using speed in each group. (can't tell you how freaking frustrating it is to run 5fg all with no speed.) If they don't have speed, the non-speed groups run together as the second wave. AFAIK, speed is a requirement for groups in the other realms. I know we have enough minstrels to go around, but hell I'd go on sorc or theur speed too if there isn't.
As for naming names, I won't do that. I will give anyone a chance to run a raid. (well okay I have a few exceptions, but so does everyone.) If it goes badly or they just can't keep people in line, I won't join them again. We have seen many great raids carried out, many successful, a few that weren't so successful due to cross-realm spies, irc blabbers and people who think they know better so don't follow orders. Anyone that takes the time to plan a raid and organize it deserves respect. Calling them names or insulting them when it goes badly (mostly due to Albs not listening) is not productive. Its like others have said, if you think you can do better, prove it. What really helps the realm best is to think about what you do best, what you can offer to the realm to help us out. Not everyone is a born raid leader, hell I know I am certainly not. I discovered right away that I do my best for the realm by helping keep people calm, mediate when problems arise and play the cheerleader. Helping each other is key, putting aside petty arguments is crucial.
First and foremost, we need to start listening and following orders. Even if he/she says lets all run without armor and dance at the mg... ya do it. (then make sure someone takes away their adult beverages since they are obviously enjoying them too much)
So let's learn from our mistake of not being more diligent in our patrols, make up a new plan and execute it. Midgard, damn good raid you executed... it was just the wake up call we needed. But enjoy our relics while you can... soon enough they will be back where they belong, in Castle Excalibur.

In my experience the two best leaders have been Liste and Vayasen. They actually got the job done because it needed to be done, instead of ego tripping around.
Mind you with this many people mentioning Liste as their favorite leader I dread to think how inflated his ego will now be, so I may have to ammend.

Xeanor, Liste, Ilum, any of these 3 have what it takes imo, but we as a realm, should be prepared way before a rr is called.
Have rams ready and vaulted, and ram teams organised, if all guilds have this sorted beforehand, the task becomes so much easier.

Thaught ya knew by now I have no qualms what so ever about sucide charging 200+ all naked and blind to instal a bit of raw agression and nothing else
[I've got 9 by command don't ya know, going for the round ten afore christmas]
Anyways, it's not a case of who's a good raid leader, more a case of who's a good teamplayer, not a single relic was ever won solo.
In keeping with our 'tradition' of meeting for action, I'll be staging the Annual GM's Meeting shortly, in which every Rank 0 GM in Albion will be invited to attend to discuss life, universe and everything in DAoC, for better or worse.

Well, I'll follow most people. I've rarely seen people who can't lead, but often seen those who can't follow.
On the having Rams (& Trebuchet's) handy thing, I'm always amazed how difficult it seems to be for people to get a few Rams together. If everyone had one Ram in their vault, it would be very quick and easy to get keep take forces together.
To put it into perspective - A Ram takes up 6 slots in a vault (including 2 slots for wood, which can be bought in Caer Gothwaite for a few seconds extra work, saving 2 slots). The cost of a Ram is only 28 gold (of which the wood is 20). It takes me less than a minute to make the 4 ram parts (and I'll make them for anyone - ideally for a donation toward the cost).
Trebuchet are more expensive, but still less than 100 gold each. With the ammunition they take up about 10 slots in a vault. It takes me a couple of minutes, with the ammunition taking up most of the time.
Ballistae are less used, although we must take some on a defence some day, to see how effective they are against enemy rams.

walker was uber leader......
no1 left that plays alb regularly that knows wtf they doin anymore, no alliances that are worth listening to or following cos albs talk alot but do nothing of any worth .
