Eusebio was a superb player for his time,
its sad noone remembers him just because he's black
is the best of them all ever.

Do you remember england world cup in the 50's?

Eusebio is the best (portuguese) player ever

he's actually the worst midfielder in existance.

if i was the england manager id stop playing the tarty over payed players and actually build a solid team. Without the likes of Ferdinand and Beckham.
to busy making sure his hair is in the right place to care bout football.

tbh. Peter Schmeichel :worthy: (even tho he is a goalkeeper. not a field player) but if i had to take a field player i would choose Eric Cantona. good players on a crap team (Aston Villa > Man U)

Eric Cantona's football career was best when he got banned from football forcing him to play beech footy, thts where he began to show his real talent if you watched any of tht.

George Best Was the greatest player EVER .. remember he was playing just as good as all of todays star strikers, if not BETTER but in his day they diddnt have million pound training programms and Heated pitch for 100% playing,, he was training himself, and playing in muddy crappy pitches.. dont know how any 1 could possibly vote for any 1 els, doing flashy tricks that hold up a game does not make them a good player, consistant goals makes a good player <3

Lol ronaldinho does alot more than hold up the game with tricks, he turns it on its head with them. Hes pure genious and a fantastic ambassador to football, he plays with his heart and he plays for fun, hes always got a smile on his face and its just a tremendous pleasure to watch him. I just got back from barcelona beginning of this month and out their he's bigger than jesus... theres posters/adverts of him all over the city and ever single barcelona/brazil shirt being sold there has 'ronaldinho 10' on the back. No disrespect to george best or any of the others, they were/are all superb players, but i just think that for pure talent, attitude and entertainment ronaldinho is the only choice for no.1

Did not look like that after last match when they said bye to Larsson :) But guess many have 2 barcelona t-shirts hehe. Sick to have those goodbye scenes after just 2 years there which 1 was mainlly injured.

Ppl here are voting for contemporary players cos thats all they know. Most ppl here under under 40. Most ppl here don't have libraries of clips of Stanley Matthews or Pele. Most ppl here prob can't even name the full line up of the 1966 team. So I understand why all the modern names are here. I just don't think the best players in the world are current ones.

True, a best player of the last decade or something, that'd show a more proper view of people's opinion of the best player ( of the decade of course,) as they would most probably know the players then :)

Well my father who is 58 certainly remembers them, yet he believes ronaldinho to be the best player he's ever seen

P.S van basten should prolly have been in the pole (certainly not an 'others')

tbh i couldnt pick between Pele, Mara, and Ronaldinho .. .
all 3 played with brilliance, class, skill and just played the game for what it was supposed to be. they always set out to please the crowd and win the game!
they were/are always happy just to play the game and imo the 3 peeps that would no doubt play the game if the money wasnt included :worthy:

ALready had 2 brazilians and 2 Argies, didnt want to go with 2 dutch too and as Cruyff, Pele, Maradona, Ronaldinho and Di Stefano piss on Van Basten from a great height, i didnt really want to clutter up the poll with him.

I must say in this order, Pele, Maradona, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldinho,Alfredo Di Stefano, Ronaldo, Johan Cruyff, Franz Beckenbauer, Michel Platini, Raymond Kopa, Luis Suárez.

All of them are Ballon d'Or Winners
