Is it common to literally be out of the loop with everything?

Sucks ass, I want these 2 months to fly by.

well came back home 3 weeks ago, and to say I seem to have no mates left here would be an understatement, everyone seems to have gone on in life. lame.

Aye during Uni summer breaks I just wanted to see my Uni mates all the time. After we finished though, inevitably we grew apart and I've seen my best mates like 3 times since leaving (2 years ago). Im glad my home mates are still around though, they havn't changed a bit, and thats something that takes some getting used to, as I am a completely different person from when I started uni.

Job has been something i cant find, don't help how high unemployment is in wolvo, but yeh I got a good few mates, most buggered off on hols/working or just generally settled down. But I seemed to have missed out on sorting out on everything that was going on this summer (though fairly as they were under the assumption I wouldnt be back).

Sucks ;d.

I live 40minutes from my uni, so I still hang out with all my regular mates on a daily basis and my uni mates, even during the summer

I can relate to this - I joined the Army :D

To be honest I dont miss some of the 'mates' I had back at home, and the fact that they've moved on in some cases has been a bit of a blessing in disguise. Sure there are a few who I've looked up and tried to orginise a night out on the piss for old time's sake, but in most cases its never really worked out as I'd imagined it - they've gone thier way and I've gone mine.

I think the trick is to keep looking forward, leave the people who have become disinterested in the past and remember that there'll always be people about that you'll work and study with, some of whom you'll grow to call friends :)

Take Uni as it comes and after its done you'll move into circles where you'll most likely be mixing with much more like-minded people, as far as I can see, anyway.

My closests friends are still the ones i had at upper primary school / high school. So while spending a month at my hometown scratching my belly, I've got a lot of possibilities to see em. Hanging out at the seaside, summer cottages and so.

Don't get me wrong tho, i've got lot of people at my uni town too, but the closests ones, and the ones i'll most likely stick with at the future too, are the old ones from my hometown.

Kind of wierd actually, since the people i've met at my uni town are probably more "like minded", but still i prefer this mixup of different people i have here.

Maybe this has something to do with my hometown being a quite small place, so people tend to grow up together more than in a bigger place where you end up being in with a lot of different people anyways.

Could be the mindset of people in Wolverhampton tbh, quite thick and cliquey, unfriendly at that tbh.

this doesnt compare to what I felt when I came back after 3 years in the army.
However in uni atm , I don't go home often, but most of my friends are in uni too, so we seem to be on even ground :)
