What would make RvR more fun

... would be if people wouldn't stand around a realmgate for hours waiting for the ideal group setup, while there's tons of people around lfg.

It's so silly to see 4 or 5 groups at Druim Ligen doing nothing, because they're all waiting for a 2nd druid with the right spec to come along. Because they won't have the 'perfect' group if they invite someone else. Some people even leave when a group fills up to something that isn't the perfect template.

Is doing nothing really more fun than taking your chances by trying something new? I've played since release and the most fun and success I've had, has always been with unusual group setups (chanter for speed, no bard, no druids, 3 rangers, animists, etc). I wish more people would go and get more out of this game.

1. Some people maybe don't want to be free rps and have set their aims a bit higher than rr3.

2. Some people enjoy playing with their friends who knows what to do in rvr and not a random noob who mess up things all the time.

3. Why dont you put these people that are lfg in a zerg and bring them to emain? Sounds as if you are just putting this onto someone else neck.

Btw if you dont think what i said above makes any sense, try getting a bit higher rr on your char and spend more time in rvr and you'll understand.

It's a game and people can do whatever they want, hah!

I agree to some extent ensce.
But going out into emain with a fg thast not balanced isnt funny..

To not have a CC or speed or a healer is just running for 8 mins and then /release..


Think its not the players fault really its Mythic/GoA that have made a game where some classes are useless in RvR.

The only way to have whatever classes in fg is to b part of a zerg. Then its np playing unbalanced groups.

Many if the fun fights been in a 3 way zerg where middie/albs/hibbies had approx same numbers. It lasted 10-15 min and was fun as hell.

But them epic fights only happens every 3-4 months..

Ensce is rr7+ with 2 millions RP on ensce alone ?

when a game evolves, it gets more competetive and the word 'elitism' can be used. in the beginning, everyone are more or less noobs, its fun exploring things, starting to figure out how the game works etcetera.

for those who plays/played cs for example, remember the beginning, of beta 3-5. where you could run in the main gate of cs_assault, emptying your clips on random enemys, missing 90% of the bullets, running out for reloading with 100 hp left.

i dont know if that was more fun then when i play cs nowadays, im better, everyone else is better, but there is nothing new left to be seen, no good camping spots left ( ), and there are some downsides, such as extensive cheating.

i would guess these things aply to all games, and there is not much to do to stop them, except maybe radical game changes.

1. Playing time is all that makes rps. I've seen more than enough 'perfect' groups fail and random groups succeed. Besides that: doing a few runs in 2 hours still gets me more rps than standing still doing nothing in that time.

2. Ofcourse, that's everyone's good right. I wasn't talking about whether or not you prefer to group with friends or not, but whether or not you'd refuse people lfg and wait for hours purely because you want the perfect setup. Some people join a random group, meaning they're willing to play with random people, but simply leave if they don't have 3x bm, bard, 2x druid 2x pbaoe or something like that. Btw with 'you' I mean people in general, not you personally.

3. That's what I've done quite often actually, but that's besides the point. It's not so black and white. There's a world of possibilities between perfect groups of befriended RvR RR10 veterans and a zerg of random RR1 newbies.

Btw your arguments don't become more valid by adding a few condescending remarks. I've been in RvR as long as you have and gotten of rps, though that's never been my prime objective. One of my prime objectives is to see people have fun around me, and the attitude I questioned in my first post is stopping me and quite a few others from having fun.

100% agreed, I would never group with a bard who suddenly runs off his group to 'solo' a scout and thereby forgetting he leaves his group without CC, endurance and stuff.

you seem like a nice person .. plz hold on to that... dont let ppl with a limitet horizon cut down your fun....

i my self are boored silly by tank groups.... but we need em vs the mids...

the solution is often to make 2fg's ...

1 fg tanks (dont have to be high RR)
1 fg random casters (alb got loads of those)

which random casters you got then deside how we try to play.. and if you make sence to the ppl with you they even sometimes listen and mostly we have a fun time....

(often we allso die in horrible bad ways and i have to yell/curse/log in/log out etc in anger... but thats a part of the random fun)

if you lucky some elite'ist from other realms will logg on to your realm to tell you that you should die RL (like some ppl here) and you can all have a laugh in /as..
