Schumacher is a good driver and after today I feel sorry for him as he was clearly pissed off with what happened. Ultimately he wants to race and Ferrari aren't offering him that.

People will think less of his skill after today as well, cause they will question whether it is the team or him.

I admire Schumacher for his skill, but the man I like is Montoya, probably because he is not affraid to go wheel to wheel. Plus he is not afraid of the political crap that is in F1. What would be good would be to put Schumacher and Montoya head to head in a non technology, full of toys car. Porsche 911 GT, I dunno a proper racing car, whatever you class that as. A car where the driver is in control, not the gadgets.

The person I really don't like is Bernie Ecelstone, bit of a power hungry twat in my view.

I bad day for F1. If only Touring car was broadcasted on poor mans TV regularly and not n weeks out of date.

I hope to be going to Sneterton in Norfolk for the BTCC. :D

Mikey out!!!

Aye, I used to be a H0000ge F1 fan but i havn't watched a single race al season. I only heard about this through this thread and i think i can safely say i probably wont watch another race this season.

Rallying is the way forward, the Ultimate test of Driving ability. The WRC is just so much more fun to watch than 2 drivers batteling it out only for the true winner to give up his place.

F1 has become more boring over the years and today just added another nail in its coffin. While it was the teams descision, Michael Schumacher can never be considered one of the best drivers when his only main competition, Rubens, is asked to slow down at the end.

Well at least the WSB championship was very interesting to watch with some real battling, much like the BTCC, WRC, etc

I didnt watch the race (was at a LAN) but I have watched all the others so far. I am enjoying the season, not as much as I enjoyed some of the older seasons, but its better than anything else on tv on a sunday afternoon.

As for the decision, I think it was a bit stupid, and very regrettable, it is clear M. Schumacher regrets it, and Barichello was a bit peeved at it. I liked how Ralf looked after that race, he really had a kinda, wtf how lame is that type face on him ;)

As for WRC being better, fundamentally I enjoy WRC more, but it isnt on that much, and the program is half chat. I'd sit there for hours watching in car footage, its just spectacular to see how they can control the cars in those situations. They need more WRC progs, and they need more footage of the actual rallying. They kinda run through everything that goes on a bit too fast, I wanna see some rallying, not an interview with Colin McRae :p

I think Ferrari just made a bad decision, nothing more. Humans make mistakes.

That's my F1 roundup. Thankyou for listening.

Coulthard moved over for Hakkinen. Everyone went mental about that one too. The difference was that Hakkinen really did need the points, and it was not at the end of the race, although it still sucked. Irvine has also previously moved over for Twatmacher. Whats bad about this particular incident is that we are no were near the end of the season, looks like Ferrari are trying to tie up the championship before the half way point of the season. At that point they will let Barrichello win, as they will want him to finish second in the drivers championship.

I can't help wondering if the crowd hadn't been booing would Twatmacher still have let Barrichello take the win? Did he really have nothing to do with the decision? If he didn't want it then why did he overtake and not let Barrichello win?

Sad day for the "sport".

There must be some sort of legal action to take because of that.. surely? It's exactly like match fixing.

Wrong...

On htat occasion it was the first race of the season and Coulthard and Hakkinen made a PRIVATE agreement thet whoever got to the first corner first the other would let win if the situation was right.

This latest incident is bad because Ferrari Ordered Barrchello to move over.

Anyway, Ferrari Team Officials are being called up infront of the FIA and might have Shumies 10 points taken away. I think the likelyhood of this happening is very high since the F1 viewing figures have dropped drastically over the last 2/3 years and no one wants to spend their afternoons watching a race only to see a false finish. The only way F1 is going to regain or at least retain their current viewers is to stop all these team orders.

Bernie has announced plans to put plugs on some of the technology being developed to make the races more exciting again (ie not just Ferarri winning all the time) so it would make no sense to let them The reds get away with this one.

it makes me laugh that everybody is kicking up such a fuss about all this when its been going on for years now, Eddie Irvine was always under team orders to not finish ahead of the Heir Schumacher if he was still on the track, thing is Irvine got pissed off. I was a fan of F1 up until Damon Hill went to arrows, and I've known ever since shoespacker started racing he's been cheating from day 1, he was once disquilified after finishing first in a race because the skid block on his car was too thin. then there was the thing about the fuel hose with the filter removed for quicker refueling, and other stuff I've forgotten about. The guy is a German tit.

The WRC is much better but because of the size of the tracks its impossible to cover it all. But its all about skill, as I've said before, Colin Mcrae hasn't won much at all but he was the popular one because of his driving skill, it's entertainment just to watch him angle the car perfectly into position for the corners.

True, when Irvine swapped teams with Barrichello, Irvine said that he'd get pissed off with being #2 after a while.

Rubens seems pretty pissed off :)

Heh, stopping team orders is extremely hard. There could be so many ways in which a team could slow one driver down in order to let the other through without being noticed, or making it look "natural". Its a very hard thing to stop :p

Would be nice if it was stopped but we will see..

of course they do, but at least in that case its not noticed, in this case it was just a little bit too obvious. The most popular method of making it look natural is to bring one in for a pit stop and ask the mechanics to take a little longer than normal.

I'd rather have it blatant than still go on but being hidden...

I can understand it going on to win the championship in a tight situation, but it wasnt necessary at all, Schumacher was well clear anyway, another 6 points would of pulled him further away, so what he would miss out on 4 points which are not essential.....

because he's a big gay German

lets face it ever since he started in formula one the whole thing has been going downhill.
The days of Mansell Vs Senna are long gone never to be replaced.

I'm inclined to agree. Never has Formula One been as nail biting as those days. Damon's year of glory was also good fun.

1) Team orders have been around for years, they're nothing new at all. They're not 'illegal' for the sport either - it's Ferrari's team, they can do whatever the hell they want with it.

2) People connecting Barichello moving over with F1 being boring - did you actually watch the race? It was one of the most interesting and entertaining in ages.

3) Schumacher was WELL pissed off about the whole thing, he even publically said "Rubens won the race" and handed him the winner's trophy etc, much to the chagrin of Mr Todt.

4) Yuck-Fou - you have reaffirmed your status as a 3 year old. "Twatmacher"? Did you pick that up in the playground?

What bollocks.

Schumacher knew for at least THREE LAPS what was going on. He was on the radio with Todt for nearly the whole of those three laps - probably arguing - or sorting out his story for what happened at the end.

Crocodile tears on the stadium don't cover it up.

Having said that - Sterling Moss apparently went on about how much of a sham F1 was because of this incident. I distinctly remember Mr Moss moving over for one Juan Manuel Fangio to gift him the race.......

they just made it to in your face for my liking - i mean 10 metres from the line, just do it a couple of laps before the finish. gah! don't make it so obvious, it was a good race for a change

I think Barachello prolly new he was going to have to give it up, but he chose to make it look obvious so the world could see that he would have won, if it hadnt been for team orders.

If F1 is so boring why are you lamers discussing it?

Right. WRC. Fun to watch? When McRae stufs it down a hill yes. Require car control? Yes, but nowhere near as much as F1. 300bhp 4WD machines will ALWAYS be easier to control than an 850bhp rear wheel drive bullet which weighs about the same as a postage stamp. BTCC? I can save you money on going to watch a BTCC race. Go to a bridge over a motorway of your choice. Watch the Mondeos and Vectras drive past at 100 mph. Tends to be more interesting than BTCC.
