Erm no.

The subways tried last year, failed miserabley... will be the same this year.

As for the bravery... poor man's killers. And the Killers are shit.

Subways were supporting Stellastarr*, who are also an insanely talented and unique band. The Bravery are alot like The Killers, however thats not exactly a bad thing, the killers are also an incredible band, you really feel the clash vibe from them. Its the same with bloc party and thirteen senses, not really the kind of music i'm into, but I dont class something as shit just cos I think so, no music is shit, your just being ignorant if you think your view is the be all and end all.

lol, they ooze clash.

You clearly know fuck all, any fan will tell you the killers own half their sound to the clash, infact 90% of fans will relate to joydivision, neworder, clash, cure, the idea's and lyrics and riffs, harmonics are so close to that of the sound the killers generate through live performances.

Have you actually seen the killers live? Hmm? Have you seen the subways live? how many bands you claim are 'shit' have you actually seen live?

There are those who condone musical tastes and those who opinionate with open-minded views on tastes, guess which one you are ;/

lyrically similiar? 'Somebody told me, you had a girlfriend...'
compared with 'London calling, see we ain't got no swing... 'cept for the reign of that truncheon thing'
K.
And the sound, how many effects did you see the clash use minus a Distortion pedal?
Similiar to new order in a way, but, same as the incarnation, not even a patch on joy division. Cure? No.

Not seen the killers live, because i don't like them. Seen the Bravery though, they were okay. Why would i go to see a band if i thought they were shit? The only one is the Mars Volta. I don't tend to go to gigs at big venues, just gigs at local clubs, where you can see the raw talent. Groups such as The Hip-hop farmers and Soup who stand such little chance of making it big, but are a million times better than half this new age indie shit. And why? because indie is no longer indie. Indie means independant, not going on fucking CD:uk.

The Killers list their influences as Oasis, The Cure, New Order and generally, the british music scene of the 80's, which i dare say includes the clash. They actually took their name from a new order video.

I agree about the CD:UK part, but I can understand that in this age of music, in the UK, bands if they feel this is the route they want to-go, then by all means it should be. They are only opening themselves upto a wider market, by doing shows and radio interviews, and if they feel they can perform to a crowd of thousands equally aswell as in a club of hundreds, then they should atleast give it a go. I just hope they can. 'cos its steps like these which can break a band and put so much pressure to drive out new material that they lose the whole pasison behind the thing they originally set out todo, which I hope is to make good music, and not make it for the fortunes they benefit from.

Alot of bands try to be rather shy about their influences aswell, sometimes they even lie just to get you off their back.
