Why do people need grats threads anyways? Isn't it enough with your guild, and possibly alliance saying "grats mate" on /gu and /as? Most grats threads leave a lot of people sitting with the feeling of "wtf, that person just zerged/added/was pl'd his way to that rr, but I can't post shit or I'll get a warning!"

I don't care much about the grats threads, I've never had one and don't really fancy ever getting one. I know myself if I did well or didn't do well getting my rps. I'm aware of casual players having it a lot harder getting to rr5 no matter how much rps you get for a kill. But since my opinion is to remove them alltogether, it doesn't matter much.

Sure, it's an achievement, but isn't this a "discussion" forum? And we're not allowed to discuss playstyle in gratsthreads anyway, or what?

How...

many...

times...

Discuss, don't flame.

"well done mate, but i've only ever seen you duo - hope to find you soloing now you're higher up the ranks!" <- fine

"ADDING ZERGER FFS GET A LIFE NO GRATS" <- not fine

People often get grats threads because the people writing them are proud of them!

Actually, you should switch the 'fine' and 'not fine' around, as people getting congratulated is boring, where as a good whine thread can be amusing :d

Many people aren't able to use the correct option, so why lure them into something they can't handle anyways? :p

People often get grats threads because the people writing them are proud of them!

Cool, but still... With all due respect, rps = time spent, some people are just more efficient than others due to setups and available time. Naturally, some people do better because they have more time to "practice" their tactics along with other people. But why can't a pat on the back ingame be good enough?

Think I'm attempting to turn this into a more open discussion now: Why do we want "Grats threads" altogether?

Of course, this minimum gratz amount should perhaps be different between Cluster and Glastonbury, due to server age.

The problem with your question as stated above is that it kind of asks people to reply by claiming that they can speak for everyone. Which they can't. Would it not be more productive to ask:

What are the arguments for and against gratz threads?

Opinion is fine but like they say "Opinions are like arseholes everyone has one." To that we could add the very special FH modification:

"While opinions are like arseholes everyone has one it might also be useful to know that having an opinion does not always have to make you an arsehole."

Worded the question wrong I guess, I naturally meant: Why do "you" want a grats thread for yourself?
I possibly put too much faith in people understanding underlying questions, but usually have higher beliefs in people I hang around with.
If someone posted something which could be understood as if expressing themselves for a group of people, I'd still only take it as that person's personal opinion. Unless of course that crowd of people had let know that the single person was answering for them.

rr 1-5 = 2-4 days now so no point in doing grats threads on such a low rank
rr 1-6 is like a week or smth?

well should have 8 or 9 minimum anyway imo if we gonna try to avoid spam...

dont think u can put an actual number to any achivement.
some ppl spend a few days to get r5, some spend half a year.. all depends on who u are and how u play the game.

in general anything below.. dno, r8 or 9 or such i spose, is kinda lowish with todays standards, but that still doesnt mean some wont be overly enjoyed with dinging various lower ranks, and might deserve a gratz thread just as much as some1 dinging r10.

Hear hear! For some players, casual players, people who spend most their online time in PvE (helping others, enjoying to explore the lands) dinging RR5 can be as much of an achievement then dinging RR10 for someone else.

For players who have already a RR8+ toon, dinging RR5 isnt that big of a deal (IMO). But for someone else it might be. If people are truely annoyed by grats-threads, perhaps it's not a bad idea to learn to read before clicking a thread :)

LMAO - I wish that were true. You might be able to farm that many RPs but I, and I suspect many others, could not possibly hope to ascend that rapidly.
