how did u arrive to the conclusion that sorc's arent best in head on mezz duels?, seriously? the casting timer on mezz is like 3.0 sec or something like that, good sorc will have what? 380-390 dex i reckon?(thats what my lurikeen has), casting timer on 3.0 spell with 380 dex, 10% casting speed(no mota) is something like 1.2 secs, now, gl with running the 2035-1650 range in 1.2 sec, no chance in hell thats gonna happen, imo pre toa sorcs was the best too, and mind you i played alb at the time.

healers have a pretty decent chance against a sorc however, all the instants mean that after they've lost mezz duel, which they will do most of the time, they purge, insta ae stun and cast ae mezz on the alb grp rendering them helpless which basically means both groups are fully mezzed.

bards have no chance in hell against any of the 2, amnesia is very neat granted, but it hardly comes up to speed with bolt range mezz at silly casting time, and 5 different instants from healer or whatever amount they have.

conclusion, sorc > healer > bard imo

Fyric, read Aussie's post - it's proved that at speed 5 or 6 you can run the difference in range in less time than a sorc can cast mez.

indeed you cant run that far in the 1.2 ish sec it takes to cast mez butu CAN run it int the time it take sa sorc to notice you, press face then mez, add in a few 100ms from connection lag and your easily at 3seconds from seeing mid to having mez mid cast, that is enough time to run that far and enough time to mash the insta button which you dont need ot have stopped for.

it's a close race between healers and sorcs; the biggest advantage is called redundancy: mids always run with 2-3 healers and even if the pac healer gets insta mezzed or whatever there are 2 others who can perform emergency backup CC. Also healer being sojourner gives them 4 forms of CC (mez, root, stun, FZ) which is totally crazy (not even mentioning the out of jail card called phaseshift). Sorcs are also very good but again they really become overpowered when there is more than 1 sorc in the group; the nice thing is that you can do that without gimping the group since they are also one of the best damage dealers in game.

Bards.... hands down the worst primary CC class in the game.

Agree with that. More healers in a group, more surviveability, rest of group typically damage dealing classes. More sorcies in a group, more damage, rest of group typically surviveability increasing classes. I guess the only reason sorc groups weren't more popular before (a spirit caba was essential, and is still preferred imo) is cus the TOA bonus's didn't exist.

Bard could do with having a root and/or ae root, but then druid has it as well, and if you take root from a druid your pretty much left with a cleric. Main reason bard seems less powerful these days seems to be cus speed 5 is no longer deemed essential and the same with end regen (pots had a pretty huge impact on the game). In fact if a shaman wasn't such a good class at interupting (nerf insta pbae disease on 8 sec timer!) i bet they would be reduced to just bbots again.

I guess the main reason hibs can still compete even with a relatively gimped main mezzer is classes like the warden, druid and eldritch (although druid loses a lot of power in NF!).

Lets go for parts

Pet: (yellow if enuff mind specced my friend, body sorcs can only charm blue/green pets) sorc is a caster in cloth armor, with 1400 hps buffed, w/o instaheals of any type, assuming this kind of downsides, its pretty obvious that they need some upsides, here being pet n lifetaps.
MoC: all the 3 mezz classes got it
Lifetap: its the main dmg type from sorc like wpns are from healer/bard, there are different classes after all.
Root: healers also have root, bards are the worst of the 3 due to having only 2 types of cc (FZ n mezz)
Quickcast: of course only sorc has QC, hes the only one of the 3 mezzers that doesnt have any kind of insta CC n its a caster afterall
Spiiiiiiiiid: the 3 classes have speed spells, bard's being speed5
List of sorc spells: good, u have discovered that classes are different, ofc cba to write the long list of healer spells (hint: antimezz chant is near no used, most sorcs using speed spell)

Bards are the worst of the 3 mezzers although they have some key tools on the same class (i love speed5 n end regen on same class), but imo its a downside of having the best of some type classes in this game
