Town I was born in: Rathenow, Germany

Birthplace of Johann Heinrich August Duncker, inventor of the 1st machine to industrialy manufacture lenses. (Can't translate the name: Vielspindelschleifmaschine) The company he fouded in 1801 existed until the reunion of Germany and was after the 2nd WW the main source of lenses and glasses for the whole Eastblock. After the reunion the industry was bought and sold out by Westgerman competitors resulting in an unemployment ratio of nearly 30%. (Guess why I moved.)

Thad - You also forgot Joseph Priestley (discovered Oxygen amongst other things) and Burtons clothes (Montague Burton).

Where I'm from originally is home to the most productive slate quarry in the world (for a long time it was the largest), and the Super Furry Animals :D

(Not bad for a small village in the middle of nowhere :p )

Guinness, my home town is where Arthur Guinness was born and where the Guinness family still lives.

For a multi millionaire, they appear very unconspicuos, you can usualy see the father down the town at the shops in a pair of wellys, or driving his tractor.
